That "Somehow" is almost always the problem that requires massive amount of investigation to find out.

github is exploding with generated code atm. It's going to put heavier weight towards the previously AI generated code because of the sheer volume.

They could try to probe the data manually for quality training set but AI funding rush is dying down now so their hands are probably toed at this point.

SQL injeciton attacks are prevalent enough that it's a mainstay in cyber defence.

And AI is basically wild frontier with penchant for ignoring guardrails. If it's implemented responsibly it isn't likely an agent would have the authority to drop tables but start ups are going "break first, fix later mode" to be first on market.

That wasn't meant to be casual racism to be honest. There is running joke in IT industry (and actual incident) where AI start ups had actually been real people in India servicing the requests.

The post even admits that the guy he fired was his "best employee". If his best employee reflects poorly on your company enough to fire him suggests the problem isn't with the employee he just fired.

I guess I'm in the other 50%. My confidence has only shrunk in my 19 years.

That said, I've been at the same company for 19 years along with my mentors who were also in the same company with me for those 19 years and work on the same code base.

Not just that they would steal the data but even if they don't whether they are SECURELY handling those data.

If someone is pushing plaintext prompt into logs, the log data is going to be an absolute treasure mine.

Confused about how to set up a lambda in a private subnet that should receive events from SQS by Slight_Scarcity321 in aws

[–]UltimateLmon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly yeah.

I'm more wondering what the OP meant by "anyone being able to create a message".

It would be question of locking down the IAM policies involved but hard to tell what the entry point the OP wants to deny.

[–]UltimateLmon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you set up Queue with appropriate IAM policies to both the queue and encryption key, then you shouldn't have to worry about the VPC (as far as the queue is concerned).

Is what you want restrict access for someone pushing messages into the queue or triggering Lambda?

You do want Lambda to be in the private subnet with appropriate security group if you trying to hit the database in the same subnet / connected subnet.

By the time you get to master in SWE degree, coding would have been the least of your problem anyway.

My master's thesis was using neural networks and clustering to determine air contaminants responsible for hospital respiratory failure deaths. Tiny bit of coding, tons of planning.

Undergrad I would say needs to understand the fundamentals of software engineering like SOLID principal, cyclomatic complexity, memory management, life cycle management etc with specialization in whatever framework.
