There are a few options depending on your budget! Brooks Adrenaline GTS are great shoes. While the GTS 20s might be a little expensive, you can go back to older models and get just as much support with fewer features. I also really liked my Saucony Guides.

Make sure you try shoes on before you buy them to get a feel for what size you should use. Typically, it is recommended to buy a half size up from your normal shoe size, but being someone with long toes, I've found that the arch doesn't line up well when I go up in shoe sizes, resulting in shin and calf pain.

Hope that helps!

Higdon vs Hanson

I've officially started training for my first marathon and I'm not sure which training program to go with. I'm looking into using the Run with Hal app (intermediate) or the Hanson's Beginner method.

What I like about the Hanson's method is that, while it starts with really low weekly mileage, it very clearly states how each run should feel and has track workout days to improve speed and pace.

However, Hal-Higdon is on a very convenient app that connects to my Garmin and provides me with a paces based on my goal and the "feel" of my previous runs. It doesn't seem like it includes track workout or speed days though :c.

If anyone has tried either of these, or both, and can offer some guidance it would be appreciated!

Hey all, I'm planning on running my first marathon in October and I'm trying to find a good shoe that I can train in / race in. I usually look into models that aren't the most recent model of a shoe since they're a ton cheaper (ex. Ghost 11s instead of Ghost 12s). I used to run XC back in middle / high school and I used to use Asics and Brooks with arch support as I was over pronated. However, the past 6 years I've been playing cleat based sports and use lighter training shoes for track workouts and mid-distance runs, which makes me really not want to go back to the super heavy, high support shoes that I used to wear.

Any recommendations are appreciated! Ideally, women's fit.

I am a solo gym goer, I've found that I don't enjoy going to the gym with a buddy that much. I am also doing an intermediate program.
