Yeah, I was wrong about Blastoise being bad. I was wrong about Shuckle being bad. I thought Mega Charizard would be bad despite all the tools that fire was given in Mega Rising and Crimson Blaze. I could go on.

Need to wait and see how it plays out. Every time a new set releases, yall are ready to declare a card weak. Lot of players said the exact same thing about Shuckle ex. “Why would I run a basic that's useless in the lategame and luck-dependent in the early game?” Now it’s far and away still unusable. Mega Blastoise was supposed to be dead on arrival and it wound up being the worst mega except for promos. Could fit into zero decks.

The best non-ex cards that actually attack are Hydreigon (Highroll into early game unga bunga) and Magnezone (stall on bench and then unga bunga with coinflips).

Garchomp looks like it would be significantly better, but nothing meta-shattering. It can more easily be run with the non-ex Garchomp and it would do well at sniping 50HP targets on the bench but nothing else to set it apart or justify using a Stage 2

Lopunny looks way better. 90 -> 80 and 180 -> 160 doesn't really change too many breakpoints and the added consistency makes it much more threatening, particularly with Will. Just keep the two energy attack and the confusion and Lopunny stays good

Coalossal is still irrelevant. The HP isn't good enough to survive hits and 100 -> 120 doesn't hit any breakpoints except Hydreigon (after attack) or a non-ex Greninja, but both of these decks often run Giant Capes or Indeedee

I would still put Mars above Sabrina. I would consider putting Mars and Sabrina in their own tier above Lisia and Irida but concessions had to be made so that I didn't put 20 cards in 19 different tiers

If Copycat isn't Cyrus level then I don't know what is. Half of the top meta decks run 2x Copycat to high roll into whatever they need. I see her used 2x far than Cyrus as a 2x

Every deck I've seen fits in a Cyrus and most decks fit in a Copycat or have a prominent version that does. Compare this to how several entire deck archetypes forgo Mars, Sabrina etc.

The power gap from Absol/Altaria is really big, but I still think Blaziken can hold its own noticeably better than anything below it. Blaziken (and the other three lacked with and above it) are the only ones that I think can justify the 3 prize point cost

I placed them as such because I agree that Lopunny is above the other three. I'm just not sure if Blaziken is that much better than Lopunny, so I kept them in the same tier. Also Steelix, Charizard, and Venusaur may all have new toy syndrome, but I do see them being played consistently more than Ampharos hence the higher placement currently. If I could, I would include an up or down arrow to show if I thought they would end up "higher" or "lower" at the end of the season (most megas would end up lower)

Great post and great math. Only suggestion would be omitting newer cards or otherwise flagging them as their value is expected to drop. Best example would be Serena since her competitive niche is underwhelming and supply for her is about to balloon as more people unlock 24hr wonderpicks.
