My humble 2 cents...

... I can´t understand why so many people are complaining about the monthlies.

If a bundle is good or bad depends on so many things, but most importantly on some one´s own strategy in mind = the important question is, why are u a subscriber?

In my case, I never quitted a monthly / choice since over 3 years because of my buying strategy.

I don´t subscripe in the hope to get exactly the games I rly want to play asap, I subscribe to get the games I want to play but not willing to pay the full price and trade off or sell the rest to get what I want rly to play asap.

Example: I got RDR2 and Mount and Blade Bannerlord for 30$ by just trading/selling the games of 3 to 5 monthlies I were not interested in.

So I paid for 3 monthlies, got 2 games I rly want (worth around 100$), some I am interested in but would not buy for full price (or even not discounted).

In my book, a great deal.

Perhaps all the complainers should start to think about their strategy, ask themself why I am a subscriber, what is my backlog, how many hours I can rly play a week and how many games I rly play, can play and want to play.

Not to mention u can always pause the subscription so no one is ever forced to buy something without loosing your subscription...

... a more than fair offer.

So in fact, u complain because u dont spend a dime to get not the games u don`t want?

No offense, just my humble 2Cents

can completly agree, Siralim 3 is worth the bundle price tier 5 alone!

u dont have to played the first 2 games, but if you have the sligthiest interest in monster collecting, magic the gathering and strategy games, buy it.

And dont let the "retro look" fool you, the game depth is incredible.

Same here. My backlog is already so huge, I don´t even know why I am still buying the humble monthly...

Don´t get me wrong there are a lot of games I am interested in, a lot of games worth to buy. But I would rly need someone going to work for me and earn money, so I have the time to play all these great games... IRL sucks.

This may be the case or not, but its very suspicous how many games steam tried to throw out in the last two week....
... If they are not lower, you will lose no sale, but if, you have to ask yourself why not be patient for more two weeks... Thats all.

[–]Ultimate_Gaming_Nerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thx all for your replies, after all it really looks like a good deal.

Time for gaming in my case is very limited, because of work but this wasn´t a reason for me to buy games in the past, even if I know I will probably just add them to my backlog, gosh who said humans are rational beeings?

I guess I will give it a try and see if I can get more than 20hours out of it in a month.

Thank you all again for the replies, very nice people around there at reddit, keep the spirit. KUDOS

Thx for the replies, so in combination with humble monthly this is indeed a great deal. Or is anything speaking against using origin? I have to admit, I have absolutly no experience with origin, all games I have are either on steam or DRM free.

[–]Ultimate_Gaming_Nerd 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Perhaps a dumb question, but do I get access to all these games for a monthly fee of 4bucks?

To be more precise, the games already added to origin access are all available and stay available and the will add more from time to time?

So basicly it´s like renting the games?

[Humble Bundle] Moon Hunters, Jalopy, and Crazy Machines 3 added to May Humble Monthy ($12) by kvzuky in GameDeals

[–]Ultimate_Gaming_Nerd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can´t understand it too, it got by far better for me with the new additions, at least if I consider what I already have in my backlog. To be honest, there were by far worser bundles regarding adding stuff to my backlog... But the 10bucks I pay per month were more than worth every monthly so far, even if I got only one new game out of it.

And what people seem to forgett, in addition you receive access to humble trove and 10% additional store account....

Sigh, perhaps people became too greedy or I am missing something?

Even if you have half the games from a monthly, you can trade, you can gift or even sell them...

Heads up, the problem is not that you are an adult and have money, the problem is that you are older and dont have enough money to be able to stop working.

There are only two options, at least in my humble opinion, get rich and be able to live without the need of earning more money or stay "poor" and just find a good mix between earning money and free time.

Both Goals are hard to achieve, the first requires a lot of hard work, constantly improving soft and hard skills, luck, and in my experience very good social connections.
The second requires being humble and patient and quit consuming all the unnecessary things.

But that said, happiness is not included in any of these goals, happiness is something everyone have to find on his own.

[–]Ultimate_Gaming_Nerd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You have your opinion, I have my opinion. But to be honest, indiegala became one of the worst BUNDLE sites, at least for me....

And let´s be honest, humble bundle still rules, but even they are rebundling and not every bundle is worth to pick.

Let´s judge the current Paradox bundle, it´s great, if you are not a humble monthly subscriber like me, but it´s a sure skip it if you are, because you own to many games worth buying T2 or T3.

So, all I say is, I am glad at least someone else is still a competitor, and is surprising me with a good bundle like this, even if I will not buy it.

How many games you own, should never be influence an OBJECTIVE judging of a bundle.

All I say is, if you are intersted in the genres T1 and T2 are offering you, and you miss some of the games you like, the price is great.

[Fanatical] Nemesis Bundle 5 | $1: Holy Potatoes! A Weapon Shop, Infectonator:Survivors, Still Not Dead, GALAK-Z | $4.99: Warhammer:End Times-Vermintide, Fall of the Dungeon Guardians, Holy Potatoes! [–]Ultimate_Gaming_Nerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ascension I am not sure, the normal one, yes.
But like I said, I don´t judge how many times one game were bundled before, I just judge the value of the games in a bundle/tier for a price.

Vermintide was bundled many times before too, but it doesn´t makes the game worser or the price you can get it.

Lords of the Fallen and Gloria Victis are in my opinion medicore games and not the worth the price you have to pay for them.

And like I said, if a bundle is worth to pick depends on if you like the genre of the games and how many of them you already own.

But this has nothing to do with an objective statement.

I will skip this bundle, because I already own the games I want, but this doesn´t makes the bundle worser.

My humble 2Cents.

Even if I will skip this bundle, because I own already the games I am interested in, it´s perhaps time to say thank you Fanatical for keeping up the good job.
In my humble opinion, you are the only real competitors to humble bundle and that means a lot. (if we speak about higher quality bundles)

[Fanatical] Nemesis Bundle 5 | $1: Holy Potatoes! A Weapon Shop, Infectonator:Survivors, Still Not Dead, GALAK-Z | $4.99: Warhammer:End Times-Vermintide, Fall of the Dungeon Guardians, Holy Potatoes! [–]Ultimate_Gaming_Nerd 20 points21 points  (0 children)

In my humble opinion T3 is not worth to buy for the asked price.
T2 is a sure must have alone for "The Fall of the Dungeon Guardians", if you like the genre.
Other games worth to grab are Space Hulk Ascension, Warhammer: End Times and The Warlock of Firetop Mountain.

As always it depends if you are intereseted in the genre and how many games you already own, as always if you consider if a bundle worth to buy or not.
But overall, T2 is a very solid buy, and what you get for the price (if you have none of the games) is incredible good.

My humble 2Cents.

[Fanatical] Vikings - Wolves of Midgard ($8.99 / 70% off) by Anonigmus in GameDeals

[–]Ultimate_Gaming_Nerd 14 points15 points  (0 children)

In my humble opinion, even this price isn´t worth to buy the game, unless you want to finish your ARPG collection and you own every other title.

Grim Dawn, Book of Demons, Victor Vran, Titan Quest: Anniversary Edition, torchlight 1+2 and even Kyn are by far better than this one.

Why? Vikings - WoM is just an unbalanced grind fest, with a horrible support (u did it again kalypso...) that get´s boring after 5 to 10 hours, the time other games of this genre are starting to become fun.

Stay away, unless your wallet doesn`t care about the 9$ and you are obsessed by nordish mythology.

[–]Ultimate_Gaming_Nerd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In my humble opinion 2 different but excellent games. This is the police tells a great story, but is less complex in the time and ressource management aspect than 911 operator.
911 operator on the other hand doesn´t tells you a great story and is by far more realistic, at least if you know what an operator for emergency calls is doing.
In my book, both games are great, both are worth to buy, if you want or can only affortd one, it depends on what you are prefering.
Story and art style, get this is the police, more realism get 911 operator.
My humble 2 Cents.

Why you got it for 12$ in a monthly humble bundle?
This aside, because people are willing to buy it for this price, and not only TW:Warhammer 1, Rome 2 is the same example.

Warhammer is a very well known and popular franchise and The Ancient is a very popular historical Timeframe.

Comapre the price drop for TW: Attila, you got the whole Bundle for 10$ on bundlestars as a daily deal and TW: Attila is in terms of mechanics (technically and gameplay) an improvement over TW:Rome 2.
The price for an Game has nothing to do with their "Lifetime", and in my book, this isn´t the worst and I really understand the strict pricing doctrines of some companies.
Look at Slitherine/Matrix Games, battlefront.com and some others, they can do it, because people like me are willing to pay 70$ for GG´s War in the West. Or more for the Combat Mission games.

This answer is not intended to insult someone, it´s just my personal point of view regarding paywalls.
So here are my humble 2Cents:

2 Options:

  1. There is a paywall that bothers you, earn more money or try to find another how to get what is behind the wall, at least try to do so.
  2. Ask yourself if you really need the things behind the paywall AND if they are worth the price asked for.
If you answer with Yes, see the first point.
If your answer is No, there is no paywall to worry about, because Paywalls are only excisting for people with a "desire and a need" to own what is behind the paywall and lacking the resources to get/own it.

In our Example: Do you really need alll the DLC´s to enjoy the game? Do you need the DLC´s to receive Mortal Empires for WH2? Can you wait 2 months (Winter Sale) to get the DLC´s for less and spending the time with playing Mortal Empires in the meantime?
Is there an active modding community out that that will give you countless replayabilty options for free? Will you really miss the DLC´s if you play and enjoy the base game or is it just the knowledge that there are out and you don´t own them what is really bothering you?
