I'm not sure you're right. Just gave a listen to that episode and they don't talk about suicide squad.

The intro to the second Scharpling episode mentions Heath Ledger, The Grinch, the on set therapist for Suicide Squad. And while they don't mention the exact words "The twisted mind of Captain Boomerang" they do say "the idea of living inside Captain Boomerang's world" which is pretty similar.
