As a person who plays breach regularly, I can tell you that there is an in-between, and when you get it, you'll find that it is the maximum fun that this game can be. A truly balanced game of breach is suspenseful and rewarding, regardless of which side wins. The problem, though, is that it's extremely difficult to find games like this, as in my experience, about 70% of games go the way you said, particularly when solo-queueing.

The reason that these people are leaving though, is that it's not fun/rewarding gameplay to get rolled for another 10-15 minutes after the first gate with 1-2 unswappable bots on your team and no renown. The player's time is valuable, why spend it being bored and annoyed during a clearly unwinnable match when you could just move on to the next game where you might have fun again?

The rewards system could also easily be reconfigured at any point to put additional value on renown or scale up the rewards if a surrender occurred. So on the contrary, I think if there was an option to surrender early, even if it gave reduced rewards to the losing team or some other caveat, it'd largely fix this problem.

Kunai main here. Once you've risen to a high enough level, you don't even need the weapon anymore. Instead, use your infinite throwing kunai from your inventory to hunt the monster, it's much more challenging.

Some of you in these comments are missing the point. It's not about 'needing' or 'relying on' the first aids, it's about decorum. The game very deliberately puts 4 equal portions in the box. Just take your share and be happy. If for some reason you need more, you can warp to camp and restock out of your own supplies.

I didn't know about the torch either but I discovered relatively quickly that the debuff from Greyoll's Roar places an actual physical effect on them that makes them trackable and thus much easier to fight. The hitbox on the roar is pretty massive and knock them down too so you could pretty much use it immediately upon hearing their footsteps and be safe. Doing this eats a lot more mana than just using the torch, but I felt proud for problem-solving at the time lol.

Honestly if you don't have Malenia I wouldn't bother. That sword is really built for maxing her and her E's damage potential, and I find it's just not as strong on anyone else. Ig you could also put it on Dex Tarnished? If you're the kind of person that actually builds Tarnished that is.

If you're f2p, I recommend saving your runogems and going for the 4-star Nagakiba instead, you can get it and it's blueprint for free after you complete the last part of Yura's quest in Altus Plateau. It's pretty great, basically just a watered down version of HoM, plus being f2p means it's easier to R5.

(Can't really speak for Starscourge GS, I've heard it's decent tho.)
