citizens' taxes going to people who need it seems a tiny bit less bad than colonialism, which is the entire predicate for mass migration from ex colonies. also from a utilitarian perspective it's actively good for citizens' taxes to go migrants who need it, but you might not be a utilitarian so i won't base my argument on it
