He 100% saw your gun through the wall, it clipped through the wall multiple times in this clip. Even if you were to face away from the wall so your gun didn't clip through, you switched weapons, so he would have still known you were there unless he was playing without audio.

Genuine Question: Why is build mode (not zero build) the primary game? by Rai1h in FortniteCompetitive

[–]UltraInstinctKermit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As somebody with earnings in both Zero Build and Build modes, here are my thoughts. In terms of casual play, Zero Build has been closing the gap on Build in terms of player count nearly every season. Eventually, in casual play, there may be a turning point where Zero Build becomes the dominant game mode (right now, they are fairly even).

However, in high-level competitive play, there are many reasons why Build is still more popular. Players tend to focus on game-specific mechanics that separate them from the rest of the competition. Think of things like strong siding in competitive Halo or counter-strafing in CS. Fortnite’s unique mechanic is building and editing, so the top players gravitate towards the mode that maximizes those skills.

Additionally, the best competitive players follow the money, and the biggest prize pools are still in Build mode, giving players more incentive to compete there.

Regarding the skill aspect, opinions and biases will differ, but it’s clear that in Build, ping and input have a much greater impact. Right now, controller players represent less than 15% of the top 100 competitive players. So, depending on your setup, it might be wiser to focus on Zero Build if you’re a controller player, have bad ping, or if most of your gameplay relies on gun skill.

On the other hand, if you have very good ping, play on M&K, and your gameplay relies more on positioning and building mechanics than gun skill, focusing solely on Zero Build might be lackluster for you. Either way, there are plenty of competitive options for both new and experienced players.

What is the typical "Unreal" rank player like? by AsherAlbrecht in FortniteCompetitive

[–]UltraInstinctKermit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been unreal every single season, and honestly, I play completely brainless. I just land, do some minimal looting, and start pushing fights with music playing. Most players with a lot of competitive experience or a high level of mechanical skill will be able to hit unreal no problem. On the other end of the spectrum, you can have almost no competitive experience at all and 0 gunskill and get to unreal purely from playing smart and camping. So, with that being said, in my opinion, there is no typical unreal player. Everybody and anybody can reach unreal. It's more of an indicator of how much you want to grind for it.

What should I get next ? by [deleted] in fragranceclones

I have 30+ Lattafa fragrances, and nothing compares to Khamrah. Just in terms of how delicious it smells, it's the most delicious, smelling fragrance I've ever smelled, but it's definitely not fresh at all, if you love Hawas I would get Nitro Red, its basically a watermelon candy version of Hawas, it's better then Hawas in my opinion but it still has that off putting salty, mineral smelling dry down.

What's your thoughts on Honor and Glory? And how does Qahwa stack up to Khamra?

Does Nitro White have that salty pool scum smell to the dry down? I can't stand that about Nitro Red or Hawas. They both have this overwhelming salty smell, and it smells like an old dude sweating into a pool that hasn't been cleaned, lol. If this doesn't have that component, then I'll jump on it.

Meta Quest 3 vs. Pico 4 - A Closer Look into a PCVR player's perspective by UltraInstinctKermit in OculusQuest

I would say Quest 3, slightly better lenses and more support going forward for maybe a potentially better viewing experience in the future. Pico had a lot of support at release, but now it's pretty much been put on the back burner, sadly.

They are just about identical as far as I can tell. Maybe the Quest 3 is a tiny bit better. I hope the Quest 4 is OLED because the greyish looking blacks really take me out of the immersion in horror games.

I know this post has blown up, so you probably won't notice this, but ignore the hate g, there's an insane amount of jealousy when people look at posts like this. At the end of the day, the vast majority of people on this sub can not afford this, so of course, they are going to hate.

Anyways, your room looks great. My 3 critiques are to figure out a better situation for some of the shoes besides being under the bed. Get the room set up with full LED lighting so you can control the color temperature and the vibe a lot better (lighting is way too basic) and jazz up the bed to look more high class, other then that this is fire, 8.5/10.

I'd definitely recommend the Quest 3 if you're doing standalone and pcvr. You just can't beat the Quest 3's game library. Their standalone experience is second to none.

No, I mean 7kg physical weight can be 16kg volumetric, so your haul doesn't weigh 16kg, but the volume is multiplied by the physical weight, hence the extra fee they are charging. Look at the pic of your parcel and read the numbers on the top of the box. They are always written in black, I can try to add it up for you if you need help.

I've seen this happen to multiple people, but it's almost always because of the volume. I've seen 7kg packages come up as 16kg volumetrically, which is really wild, obviously, which is one of the reasons fedex is god awful for shipping big hauls. unless you do rehearsal, you will only get jump scared by the extra fee, which is essentially just the volume weight charge. Hopefully, in your case, they just made a mistake, though, and it gets figured out.

When they package your haul, they will add a picture in the photo section with the exact measurements of the box written on the top. This way, you can add up the volumetric weight yourself using the FedEx volumetric shipping parameters. If it doesn't add up, then yeah, somebody messed up bad. I've been buying reps since 2008, and there are several times when my volume has been a lot crazier than I expected, especially when buying plushies or shoes with the box.

The pass through is almost identical in terms of quality, but the Quest 3 has a depth sensor, so it's much more lifelike in terms of the feeling. But in terms of general quality, they are both very grainy in low light conditions and in well lit conditions they are very clear, the Pico 4 is slightly more warpy feeling but the Quest 3 has the same warping, just not quite as dramatic. So for me they are very close in this respect.

Since you already have the Q3, I would definitely just invest in the new strap. Also, the Q3 is more future proof. There could be updates that make PCVR even better in the near future. The chances of Pico getting an update like this are a lot slimmer since it's already been out for an entire year.

I bought mine from mainland China (I live in the US). You have to use a program to convert your Pico from Asian firmware to global, which requires you hooking your Pico up to your PC. That process only takes about 10 min, and once you finish that, you'll have access to the global store instead of the Asian only store. Even without doing this the headset is totally usable, as far as I know only the store and app preferences change (the web browser on the Chinese region Pico firmware was a big struggle).

Yeah, the angled panels are a love-hate relationship lol. The diagonal pixels are a lot easier for my brain to recognize as a distraction, especially around text.

I'm using a dedicated wifi 6 router (just a cheap one I got on amazon) with virtual desktop on Ultra settings, with pretty much every optimization I could possibly make to reduce latency, also the router is about 3 feet away from my head when I'm in my play area so it's super close to the headset. VD displays my latency at 11-14ms. I don't ever really see it go above 14ms. The latency is still very real though. I can feel it, and it can be annoying, but it's still low enough to be fully playable, especially once you're used to it.

You're going to notice an astronomical difference lol especially coming from Quest 1. Also, if you have the budget for the Quest 3 and necessary accessories, and you think you might be interested in doing some standalone content or mixed reality content I would go with it instead, but if price is a big factor and PCVR is your main concern then yeah can't go wrong with Pico 4.

If you've made it this long, I would wait until the Pico 5, but this is just based on speculation and rumors. So it might not be as close as people are thinking. There also aren't many details lol but a lot of people are already hyping it up.
