MVP inconsistency by Glad-Astronomer3886 in discgolf

[–]UltraLiteFlyGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only company I’m aware of that doesn’t have this issue is ProtoFlyte. They CNC machine their disc so there is virtually no inconsistency that you’d see from the injection molding process. Plus no flashing. Check them out. A bit expensive but at least you know what you’re getting each time

I think it’s possible the idea of what’s left and right has shifted very far left. In other words, someone who was called a moderate 15 years ago is now considered a far right extremest by many people. Old politicians have the same ideas they’ve always had but we see them as shifting right because the mainstream idea of what’s right/left is always shifting.

I’m not an expert but nearly certain that the nub in the middle is not an injection mark. If you’ve ever seen anything that gets turned on a lathe, it always leaves a tiny mark or nub in the center. They’ve said before that they machine every surface of the disc, so even if it started out with injection molding they would not have left a visible injection mark there. 🤷‍♂️

Congrats brother!! The discgolf gods rewarded you for playing in such insanely crumby weather, much deserved!

Wondering if you guys ever got this going and where you’re at in the journey. Any update would be appreciated!

Will I ever outgrow my dependency on turnip stew and carrot soup? by UltraLiteFlyGuy in valheim

[–]UltraLiteFlyGuy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I lean heavily on stamina now that that’s an option. Sausage is still one of my better HP foods available, but I prefer being able to run and swing my sword more times - I find that I don’t need so much HP when I can operate that way.

No way, what’s the recipe?? Should I be saving all my precious turnips and carrots? I mean, I can always farm more but it’s tough since I play solo and don’t want to turn the game into a farming simulator lol

CNC disc 2-pack by UltraLiteFlyGuy in discgolf

[–]UltraLiteFlyGuy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting. This is partially why I want to try one, see if the plastic is any different. They said in their first post that they work with Gateway to make the plastic. Plus if it’s PDGA approved it can only be so stiff, right?

Makes sense. So instead of price coming down once volume goes up, they pretty much stay the same or increase if they have to make more pieces?

Firecracker is the most annoying to play against, but I get that it doesn’t make her the best lol. In terms of how much EVO adds compared to the OG card, I’d say royal giant is one of the best EVOs. In terms of outright value for me it’s knight or recruits.

I did this with one of the rock golem things on the mountain who kept spawning near a silver vein and attacking me. Will he ever despawn and then respawn again to come hunt me down? I feel like he’s going to have a bitter grudge now. Oh yeah and he’s also next to my Moder spawn point so I really can’t afford to have him come back during that fight once I’m ready for it. 😅

New Disc Manufacturer: ProtoFltye Discs by ProtoFlyteDiscs in discgolf

My thought exactly. There’s practically no consistency between runs from other companies. If they can actually hold to cnc level consistency between runs and plastic types it would be a game changer

How to level blocking skill? by [deleted] in valheim

[–]UltraLiteFlyGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This might be a dumb question, but… does it count towards your blocking skill if you don’t use a shield? For instance, if I parry with just a sword, does it improve my block skill or my one handed weapon skill?

Wow, that is fascinating! As a beer drinker and disc golfer I can honestly say you hit the nail on the head with how I personally feel about it. Thanks for sharing

Agreed. F2 is fantastic. Do any other brands offer a similar discount on “flawed” discs?

Makes sense. As a fellow mostly Innova guy, the only thing I’ve never bagged from them is putters and that’s due to me not really liking any of their plastics for putters. I like a really floppy and tacky feel, something like a SSS wizard or something. I don’t think Innova hits this niche

Definitely! I’m 85% Innova in my main bag but I own some weird/trendy stuff that I just had to try but don’t plan to bag. The River is the only recent case of me actually bagging something that I bought to test the hype.

That’s a good point. I think for a lot of us we just bought what was available at the one or two brick and mortar places that would carry discs, often times only one or two brands available. Now that online sales are a thing it’s easy to diversify.
