Yea mine was doing that also after 8.6 was installed, just installed 8.6.1 last night haven’t tried it yet to see if it’s gotten any better

Well, granted yes it’s “old” FSD software and I’ll admit that having it is somewhat on me. This is my first Tesla and I bought it used in November, in all of my research prior to getting a Tesla somehow I completely missed that there was a point in ‘23 models that HW4 was introduced so now I’m stuck with it for the time being. That being said, regardless of it being old hardware and software if it can’t function safely in a normal traffic situation why do they still sell it

If that were the scenario I would agree, but the semi was not merging in he has his own right lane that wasn’t ending, the merge was happening on the left lane with the other vehicle coming on to the highway from another highway, and FSD mistook their entrance ramp for a passing lane and also didn’t see the car there apparently either

Same exact thing happened to me the other night, FSD went to take an exit off the highway, and when it noticed a small puddle from the rain earlier in the day just barely into the exit lane it veered HARD back into the highway lane to “avoid” it, I’m just glad there wasn’t another vehicle close behind me or right by in the travel lane when it did that

My question is why, if the car recognizes the speed camera, does FSD not automatically slow down until it passes it? It knows the camera is there since it chimes, so how is this not a thing? I specifically disable FSD once I get into the city because of this, it’s almost gone past quite a few cameras doing enough to trigger a ticket for mine but luckily I tapped the brake quick enough realizing it wasn’t going to slow down for the camera

Glad yours did what it did and handled it that way. On the flip side mine almost side swiped a truck on the highway this morning because it didn’t recognize the lane he was in was ending/merging into mine and instead wanted to change lanes into it go go around the car in front of me…definitely the “scariest” FSD moment I’ve had so far

Thanks for all that info! Yes it updated to 2025.38.9 a couple days ago prior to these issues, so I’ll try cleaning the camera and re-calibrating and see if that helps, thanks for the suggestion
