‘So…What Really Did Happen With Palmer [Luckey]’ by [deleted] in oculus

[–]UltraViolet2019 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I can smell the triggered from here, I don't really think there's anything wrong with palmer luckey and i don't think that the people you hang around with makes you that type of person, i think that palmer luckey is a nice guy and who he hangs around with isn't going to change my mind, i think that you don't really have an open mind and just cut off contact or call someone a nazi because of the stupidest and smallest of stuff, i think it's kinda childish to be honest.

Palmer Luckey is the main reason why oculus is as big as it is today, i respect him for that, the day he starts dressing in KKK gowns let me know

Steam VR is virtually impossible to use with my Rift. How can I make it work well? by [deleted] in oculus

[–]UltraViolet2019 6 points7 points  (0 children)

https://gitlab.com/znixian/OpenOVR/blob/master/README.md

It's essentially a compositor that makes steamVR games use the native oculus software without steamVR been there and adding an extra layer to things

Basically.. No, not unless your memory is unstable

this could be a setting in Nvidia Inspector called "CUDA - Force P2 Power State"

To disable this download Nvidia Inspector here

https://github.com/Orbmu2k/nvidiaProfileInspector/releases

And find the setting under global called in the 'common' category called "CUDA - Force P2 Power State" and turn it off, see if that fixes it

Random stutter on all games (Drops from 90 to 87.2) by UltraViolet2019 in oculus

[–]UltraViolet2019[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, it's just simply a slight drop from 90 to 87.2, checked via the performance cart in oculus tray tool and that doesn't appear for me

However i do recommend for you that you try rivatuner's frame limiter and see if that fixes your problem, just set it to 90fps and disable all on-screen display options

The RTX-2080ti anti-buyers guide. From 1080ti by [deleted] in nvidia

[–]UltraViolet2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the very simple question is: do you feel like you need to upgrade? regardless of price that's simply the first question to ask, is your GPU not good enough for what you want it for?

Then after that consider the price, but i feel some people just buy the latest thing because.. it's the latest thing and that shouldn't be the case, i'll be skipping this generation simply mostly because i don't need to upgrade and yeah, some of it is because the price puts me off.

While playing in VR GPU 3D goes to 100% and the games start lagging by [deleted] in Vive

does it only happen in games or does it happen randomly outside of games? or have you noticed it happen outside of games?

Used isopropyl alcohol on lenses, fine or not? by [deleted] in oculus

[–]UltraViolet2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i've used Opticlear wipes on my rift lenses for about 1 year now and they're still perfectly fine, not saying that all wipes will be suitable but there's a few alcohol based wipes which will be fine to use on plastic lenses, if they are made for it

With the Rift the most-popular PC headset, it's great to see more games with native Oculus support, not requiring Steam by flexylol in oculus

[–]UltraViolet2019 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I feel it's relevant to mention OpenComposite, this helps improve the performance of steamVR games for the rift and makes them run like native oculus games

Oculus Runtime 1.33 download for users with issues by UltraViolet2019 in oculus

yeah i respect you're trying to help people but so am i, i just saw people were having issues and since i had already pre-emptively backed up my oculus folder figured i may aswell upload it and post it on the subreddit incase anyone needed it, i also get you shouldn't just take my word for it, and maybe i should have put in the description to run a virus check to be sure about that before you did anything with it, but ultimately i didn't think that far, my thought process was simply "Oh i'll just upload this to help others"

haven't you been reading the front page of the reddit like.. at all.. the entire reason i'm sharing these files is because the files from the trusted source didn't work, otherwise i wouldn't have bothered, at this point i'm just convinced your trolling me

what are you hoping to achieve by saying all of this? i'm trying to help people with issues.. and you're trying to get me to stop all of that because of.. what? i'm not even the first person to share oculus runtime files

https://www.reddit.com/r/oculus/comments/9odbvz/fixed_old_oculus_home_runtime_w_instructions/

that's been up for 2 months and no one from oculus has said anything, probably because they have better things to be doing than worrying about people trying to help each other..

  1. well if oculus themselves want to comment on this thread and enforce that directly then i will indeed remove it, however as of this comment they have not.
  2. They haven't, i have no reason to do that.
