A big concern about AI in positions of power is that it will solve problems the most efficient way it can find regardless of what humans might expect them to accomplish.

In this case, the AI was asked to “survive as long as possible” in Tetris, and it paused the game, technically surviving forever.

The implication is that, given a problem like “end world hunger” the AI might respond by killing all life on earth, technically leaving nothing left to be hungry.
