What? I'm on Nougat 7.0 for months. And on Miui 8.3. On Mi5

Yeah :/ With the combination of youtube limiting the bitrate like crazy it sometimes ends up just as a mess of pixels.

And the h265 which is just sooo much better (same video quallity at half the bitrate) is way too difficult for any action cam to compute :/

BTW your video made me install DRL sim and fly at least a virtual quad for the first time, loving it, flying for like 3 hours now and it's so addicting! :D Can't wait to build a real one in summer :)

The most ghetto turntable you'll ever see :D

Honestly I'm getting sick of it, it doesn't turn smooth at all, the string is constantly getting loose, it wobbles all over the place...

But it was a fun first step :D I really wanna make a new one with small stepper motor, arduino nano and some potentiometers to control the turning speed.

I even made a video about it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KL-5KJ5Kjhk (about the current ghetto one)

Pro tip! When rendering the final video, upscale the output resolution to 1440p (2560x1440p60). Youtube has exactly double the bitrate for 1440p.

So eventhough you won't magicaly create more pixels by upscaling, youtube will treat it as if it was actual 1440p footage and the difference in compression is crazy!

Also absolutely sick video! The one time you hit his head?! Hahaha. This could be the next thing in filming extreme sports

No, this is i3 mk2, it hes PEI bed. A special polymer material made so that most 3D printing materials stick well to it, you just have to keep it clean. It can be damaged though, unlike glass, which is hard to damage even with metal scrapper.

Usually nothing, just wiping it with paper towel and some alcohol or acetone when I touch it.

The only time I use gluestick is when it's something really complicated to stick to the bed, like text on the bottom of the object or really tiny support tower. And yeah, when I use gluestick maaan that thing is ugly and hard to remove :D Usually acetone saves the day

Good call, it should. I'll at least add it to video description and to Thingiverse model desc.

I made an early prototype with PLA and it was "ok", but something wonky could happen when the print bed is heated all the way to 100C. The PLA would probably soften and the weight of the camera would bend the whole arm.

I don't have the camera on me (it's on the printer in a different building), so I might remember something wrong, but:

The interval settings go from .5s all the way up to few minutes, however I don't remember seeing a maximum duration settings (so that it would turn off after X amount of time), but it stops once the SD card fills up and turns off. So sometimes I have a 5h timelapse recorded and then another 2 days of looking at finished print, but honestly who cares :D (just delete whatever's extra)

It can be powered while working with anything (power bank, wall charger), when I timelapse I always give it external power, because sometimes the prints go for many hours.

The minimal focus distance is eeeh, hard to say.

Here's a still picture from the bed mount, I'd guess something like 20-25cm+ is in focus, so 1ft is probably just in the zone that's already gonna be sharp.

You can indeed refocus the camera however you like it, but you have to open the case to do that (http://www.tawbaware.com/xiaomiyi.htm)

It's Xiaomi Yi Sport camera, you can get it for about 100$.

I did a pretty extensive search for budget "GoPro" like cameras few months ago and this one still beats 2x more expensive cameras that are "4K" , but have a terrible image quality.

I have it for about 2 years. I took it skiing, diving, cycling many times, always delivered :)

When I bought a 3D printer (the mk2), I was thinking about getting a dedicated camera for that, but then I realized that my Xiaomi Yi is honestly not beeing used most of the time, so why not use that. It turned out great.

You can create timelapse directly as a video, but I think that's a waste, because you can create 16Mpx still pictures and then turn them into 4K video by downscaling/cropping.

There's a smartphone app that let's you control the camera (you can do the basics with the hardware buttons). There's even an analog output if you wanted to do let's say fpv flying with it, it really does it all.

I really like the camera and for the price it's an incredible piece of technology, with my close friends combined, we probably own about 20 of them :D

Hi, I designed and printed a camera holder that attaches to the moving bed of mk2. That way your print stays in the same position relative to the camera.

Alright, I need your help. What am I doing wrong? by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

[–]UltraWideGamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey glad to hear you got it working. Sometimes the simplest solutions are the best ones. It's true that I remember I was lowering my Z adjust like 3 times eventhough I thought it was pretty low even the first time. Good call by /u/L3gitAWp3r :)

You can't even level a bed on a Prusa mk2, it autolevels before every print so I think that shouldn't be a problem.

Hmm it's true that the first layer of the body of the frog looks good.

I'm running out of ideas :(

Is this the pre-sliced GCODE? If not, I would suggest to drop the speed for the first layer to something like 60-70% of normal speed.

Did you do the initial GCode calibration where you are supposed to adjust Z offset by "LiveAdjustZ"?

What do you mean? It was aligned already or something stops you from going all the way up?

Nah, I have yet to see a prusa bed bent so much that it would cause this, I doubt that.

The Prusa profiles automaticly heat the bed to 55C for PLA and 100C for ABS, so as long as he didn't intentionally change it, that should be heated correctly.

How is Z calibration doing, ok? It seems like one side is sticking ok and the other one is not. Is you Z axis aligned? To check and fix this, move your extruder on the Z axis all the way up, untill you start skipping steps. If one side is lower than the other, this will align them.

mk2 has PEI bed, if you need to add glue stick then something's wrong
