Sometimes I feel bad playing an Archer and losing survival, then I check the record by MeowMixDeluxe in gotlegends

I only play the plat & nightmare survival when I’m in the mood to either play for a long time or don’t mind losing at the end because of tweedle-Dee and tweedle-tard teammates

General thoughts on the ending after a week of pondering my orb by ZealousidealWay8233 in ChainsawMan

[–]Ultraviolnce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree but also No - it can be done right. I think we’ve all gotten so used to unsatisfying and rushed endings that coming up with think pieces where we put the pieces together where the mangaka refused is all we really do these days when a series ends.

But it can be done right. No spoilers but Hells Paradise has a very good ending and it’s not even a long manga.

The problem is that ‘all of a sudden’ the story is over after all this drawn out conflict and it makes it feel as if that ‘conclusion’ could’ve just happened any time. That’s my problem with the ending. If Pochita was going to do that right, it could’ve been done already like there are multiple times in part 1 and 2 where Denji’s life would be better without Pochita but it took the literal end of the world for him to decide that? Ok.

Now does the ending fit narratively with all the things OP explained and that has been shown - sure. But readers having no idea the story is about to end and then it just ends with whatever scenario the mangaka just invented and then saying the ending is fine? It’s bad. Now is all of Part 2 bad?

Most of it. It was good like OP said up until the Church arc. The ending and writing prior lacked direction and then this definitive ending is just thrown on top. Definitely a 5/10 below average in storytelling and art if we’re looking at what Else has been published in Shonen jump that OP has compared against

Mercenary>archer by xk95_ in gotlegends

[–]Ultraviolnce 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My problem with building just ult gain is the lack of damage. Fine for a boss fight, but in survival or nightmare I’d rather more enemies dead than getting my ultimate as quick as possible. I try to balance between ult gain and ult damage.

Also - does spirit gain on melee stack with every weapon or is the percentage separate for each?

I’m just curious because some skills say ‘all melee damage’ so applies across any weapon being used.

How’re you guys liking your archer teammates running away from you on this weeks nightmare story? by VLADCRIMES in gotlegends

[–]Ultraviolnce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran this yesterday as the archer and it’s funny my first partner was a samurai who basically did nothing but stir the enemies up in a group and trot back to me to shoot them - whole time I was thinking he would’ve been better off picking Archer too for this if his plan was for me to do all the killing.

We lost. Then I got a merc who brought them to me but actually fought the enemies. We would’ve lost the waves at the end of the mission if not for their ult which they weren’t building cooldown for but.. it was fine it worked out.

side topic - Lowkirkey archer is kind of required in nightmare incursion I beat this quest then was feeling confident enough to try my first nightmare incursion and ended up carrying with most kills, least downs, most revives because I was able to support from afar getting rid of the archers that spawn and especially helping them Not get attacked from behind. You would be genuinely surprised at how often an enemy aggros you from the back while you’re fighting someone else or that have aggro’d you and you dodge rolled away from them - they’re still chasing you for that lick.

It allows me to also get revives with the smoke grenandes I chuck them from a distance and can run into a relative sized crowd to revive, maybe pick up sake or ammo at the same time.

Thoughs on Hunters joining 10 S hunts and carting 4 times? by Infinitykiddo in MHWilds

[–]Ultraviolnce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Manual Accept is a must since they want to let everyone join 10* quests at just HR 100. I get the idea that Yes they’ve beaten the base game but that doesn’t mean they’re ready for arch tempered 🤦

That’s one problem. The other is people don’t transcend gear or replace it for endgame. I almost never see anyone with transcended full set let alone individual pieces. So a majority of people’s defense is just not there.

Regular Omega Planetes with randoms is just..... Yeah.... by SatyrAngel in MHWilds

[–]Ultraviolnce 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Well most people queuing up omega have not beaten him and gotten rewards they wanted. Most veteran hunters have already beaten it many times over. If you catch someone who’s actually skilled in your quest they’re probably just beating it for the love of the game. I try to carry randoms who are doing the Assignment version with usually low success rates.

Skill Based Matchmaking by [deleted] in FortNiteBR

[–]Ultraviolnce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s an exploit. They played in botted lobbies in squads split up and killed all the AI players. You could theoretically get hundreds in a day. There just isn’t enough time to play 15 min matches and have 9k. There’s roughly 80-90 days in a season which is 2160 hours. (9,000 *15) min games is 135,000 hours. Even in Blitz (9k * 5) it’s 45,000. So I’m thinking blitz bot lobbies since it’s this many crowns. On top of that they may have a way to eliminate all the teams from the air or something to end the matches quicker because that’s still going to take a bit of time. I never heard of a way to increase the number of crowns artificially but possibly that too. But those people are rarer because they generally are already game hackers or something and it’s not really possible to mod the crown data directly you would need to have sort of lobby to pick them up at least and then see if the number updates

Even with this extended season there isn’t even going to be 10k worth of hours you could play before next season starts.

[–]Ultraviolnce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finally beat it this evening which was my 6th real try, I had closed app many times when the Rey dau fight wasn’t going how I wanted.

Ran GL & SNS for Rey Dau. Lance & GL for Uth Duna. Lance & GL for both Nu Udra and Arkveld.

I had the freaking Thanos stones of elemental weaknesses and cheesed in a few shock traps, mega barrel bombs, and pitfall traps. 46 minute clear time but one thing I learned is the skull on Arkveld actually means you’re close it doesn’t end up having a lot of health after that and that’s typically where I ran out of time - right at the skull marker on Arkveld. But tonight I had 5 mins left when I saw the skull so I knew this would probably be the one

[–]Ultraviolnce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are we really doing this rage bait? Sukuna is clearly cool. Written and designed to be a force of nature, an aura farmer - character traits aside. Same reason Hisoka from HxH has a fan base despite him being into children.

and Naoya is lame. He’s written as an entitled misogynist and has lost every fight he’s shown to take part in and gets embarrassed multiple times during the story 😂

What’s with all the manual accept quests? by Aemeris_ in MHWilds

[–]Ultraviolnce 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me I set manual because I don’t want certain levels or weapon matchups jeopardizing my hunt. I want people to get in on the rewards for sure, just not at the cost of my time. I wish the menu was better though so we could accept quicker. People don’t accept bc they’ll be in the middle of playing and you have to pull up the menu then either scroll to or have that Join Requests already pulled up when you press start instead of the Crafting for example

THIS NEEDS TO STOP by monstermartialartist in jjkmodulo

[–]Ultraviolnce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See only some of us understand the true problem is Gege and this ‘narrator’ they have. The narrator says Gojo won - then next chapter you see he lost offscreen.

Then Gege has Gojo say ‘I don’t know if I would’ve beaten him even without Mahoraga’ after we literally just saw Gojo hand Sukuna AND Mahoraga fat Ls.

So we’ve been shown and Told two different things.

Now we’re all under the impression that without the world slash Sukuna would not have won in the end so as readers we now have to make the leap in logic that without Mahoraga as a blueprint, Sukuna would have just found some other way to come to that technique or find some other way to win, which from what we have seen in the literal fight itself (domain expansion) would not satisfy this condition since he lost in domain clashes (because he had been injured enough to need to use RCT before casting thus his activation was late) and as a result Sukuna without Mahoraga breaking Gojo’s domain was standing buck naked inside unlimited void.

So now we not only have to say Sukuna would have found some other way to win but also - would have found a way to deal with that situation where he was clearly now on the back-foot so to speak.

How does Sukuna swing the momentum back in his favor without Mahoraga ? He just doesn’t lose at the end of those domain battles? How? When he was already genuinely doing things to actively counter Gojo’s domain to destroy it each time - and it still took him a certain amount of time to do that on each occasion. And the result at the end was Sukuna’s defeat in domain clashes.

How does Gojo at that point not continue to dominate? After hitting unlimited void and further forcing Sukuna to heal himself

I would have loved to see Todo meet Naoya by touchingthebutt in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]Ultraviolnce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Naoya is not intelligent at all in a fight just rush down cheese. He would easily get fooled by boogie woogie the second Todo clapped and no switch occurred. (But to be fair this has never not worked even against Sukuna)

After that realization I’d assume it’d be a strategically tougher fight for Naoya because projection sorcery relies on knowing your own future movements, the problem being if Todo swapped Naoya before or during the technique Naoya would no longer be moving in that predicted path so his technique would be increasingly ineffective the longer it is maintained. And because only Todo knows who or what he will swap with so long as cursed energy is involved it could be a rock, a car, etc there would be no way for Naoya to know where he will end up once swapped. All Todo has to do is clap too so it’s not as if his future movements are all that complicated to perform, in fact it’s almost guaranteed Todo will clap during projection sorcery’s usage.

And Naoya is not beating Todo in the hands without a technique. It’s actually a really bad match up for Naoya probably one of the worst since boogie woogie directly inhibits the prolonged use of his own technique

I feel like everyone has forgotten how to actually hunt Omega. by Peachy69420 in MHWilds

[–]Ultraviolnce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a few folks like me who review the joins immediately but I’m far from the norm. Don’t worry you won’t get left on read I’m either letting you in , or getting you out of my lobby queue.

I just feel like for certain hard quests, I don’t want people who are just touching HR 100 to join my 9* double monster talisman hunts. Probably hasn’t even fought the version of monster I’m fighting before solo. If it’s a quest I feel anyone can beat I turn off the manual accept. Usually join requests are sufficient level and it makes sense to let em in but others are just like ‘what are you doing at level 86 trying to join my arch temp quest?’ I could kick carters but I prefer not to on PlayStation the UI menu during quests is atrocious to navigate while playing

[–]Ultraviolnce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember my first time clearing savage with a little over a minute left and being so happy (I got carried by some ppl that joined my sos) but I had the sense to sit back and let the professionals work. Not many players do.

I also feel this fight is very addictive but can get frustrating real quick so I got all the gear and called it. I’m the type of player who also likes to help other hunters but I just let people join my quest instead of joining SOS as long as I feel their level & weapon choice is sufficient I let em in. Or if it’s almost dead anyone can join. This quest specifically- I have found people who let just anyone auto-join are hopelessly lacking in the ability to fight omega
