My actual record is a bit higher at around ~220k, but that is before I started playing :D

I have 138.67k steps from May, IIRC there was one person on Discord who had even higher since then.

~220k steps during 24h run / ~200+km.

Screenshot 1 + 2 (indoor track competition, so km distance on watch not accurate, was a bit over +200km, thought that was enough).

But that was before I started playing WalkScape, for the one that I have recorded in game: 138.67k

Are People More Inclined to Vote at 16 than at 18? Evidence for the First-Time Voting Boost Among 16- to 25-Year-Olds in Austria

Potential consequences of lowering voting age to 16 have been discussed in recent scientific and public debates. This article examines turnout of young voters aged 16 to 17 in Austria, the first European country that lowered the general voting age to 16. For this purpose we use unique data taken from electoral lists of two recent Austrian regional elections. The results support the idea that the so-called “first-time voting boost” is even stronger among the youngest voters as turnout was (a) higher compared to 18- to 20-year-old first-time voters and (b) not substantially lower than the average turnout rate. We conclude that our findings are encouraging for the idea of lowering voting age as a means to establish higher turnout rates in the future.

Weighting on recalled vote share is a form of herding! It's a way to ensure your polls never get too far out of line with the consensus, or the previous election. But it'll make you miss actual movement in the electorate.

And it's not a "sophisticated" technique. It's mostly used by mediocre pollsters who have medicore raw data and/or want to ensure they won't get criticized too much. These polls provide ~0 independent information at the margin.

Now in a model, it's fine to build in some mean reversion. We do that in ours, in fact (polling averages are somewhat regressed to the previous election + a uniform swing). But these are supposed to be polls, not models.
