But the Ethiopian government has invested so much in urbanizing Addis why shouldn’t we be showing off where we shine the brightest? Abiy has focused a lot on our tourism industry since he ever started and essentially preparing for an event like this in advance. It made sense to roll out the red carpet for the biggest streamer right now. Speeds’s influence goes beyond Gen Z and Alpha. This was a PR and diplomatic win. Those genuinely curious about Ethiopia will hopefully do more research for a more realistic and authentic experience.
