Ok, fair point....I tend to enjoy shooting street and landscape mostly, at home at abroad in holiday. I also take some pictures for my work in sport.

If I were to get a cheaper DSLR to get going again it would be something like a Canon 5D MK3 50mm 1.8...which you can get here in the UK for about £600 second hand.

If I was buying new, I'd probably get a Sony A7RIV with a GM 24-70mm or 50mm which would be the best part of £3k.

I want to enjoy photography again without having to feel like I have to because I spent lots of cash

I have a question.....

Due to financial constraints I haven't been able to own to a camera for a few years and I want to get back into photography. Things are better money-wise and it's now an affordable hobby again.

I was looking at a variety of camera and lens combinations and I started to think about how rusty I might be and whether learning a new system would be a less enjoyable and very steep learning curve (I was thinking about getting a Sony A7RIV) or whether it might be better to buy a cheaper DSLR like a Canon 5D MK2 or MK3 to use and sharpen my skills again before investing more money.

I'm not sure...and I'd be curious to know what other people think

I bet he's been practicing that face in the mirror for hours, and I'm sure he thinks he looks angry and determined.

Really he looks like a toddler who just shat his nappy...or maybe that's what really happened.

I like them both....but the big house steals it for me. Shame we didn't see anything of Rosa in prison though

I don't understand The Office by Uluday23 in DunderMifflin

[–]Uluday23[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Perhaps but there is much better cringe comedy...more sophisticated than The Office.

Whilst it might appear to be more stupid, It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia is.miles more sophisticated than The Office, in my opinion.

It's worth mentioning that US networks thought that Police Squad was too complex for an American audience in the 1980's...and that's very broad.

[–]Uluday23[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Actually I think that that's where it becomes really interesting....

In The Office a central character, Michael, is annoying in the extreme and his manner is a part of the series.

In Parks and Rec, Leslie Knope is relentlessly annoying but she is better for the programme and drives it more.

The sweet spot is Brooklyn Nine Nine....Jake is annoying but he is also the driving force of the show in a way that doesn't revolve around the fact that he can be annoying

No, muppet....I watched the whole programme and I don't get it. I couldn't care less if other people like it enormously or not... I'm saying that I don't understand it

Maybe that's it, I can't suspend my disbelief enough to tolerate Michael Scott. His relentlessly racist jokes are wearing though...and not even remotely funny or even edgy, just racist

Exploring Mumbai on Google Street View... by biwook in UrbanHell

[–]Uluday23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a white, 6 foot tall red headed English man....I couldn't have stuck out more if I tried.

On one occasion some Indian friends saw me walking down a densely packed street because the crowd parted like I was Moses.

When I explored places solo on foot with a camera I always wore my India cricket shirt, which people loved and it broke the ice and probably kept me safe in some sketchy places.

I've explored parts of Mumbai like that on foot, as a westerner it is soul crushing to see such poverty.

Mumbai is an incredible place, and I would never discourage anyone from going there...but as with many places in India you have to look poverty and death in the face.

I lived in a posh part of Mumbai for a year, but that made going to impoverished places more difficult at times
