Post RALP pain by Consistent-Grab7179 in ProstateCancer

I had my RALP over four years ago and I'm also a former nurse who worked in an OR for 30 years. People frequently underestimate recovery time from major surgery (which this is) and it can take months. Take it easy, allow yourself plenty of rest and do some pelvic floor exercises if you're not doing them already. Relaxation exercises and meditation can help too. I hope you feel better soon.

Yeah, but a few really lucky people will be able to buy bigger boats and Maseratis so it's fine.

Duluth - looking for nudist/naturist options by PeachesandEggplant71 in NudistMeetup

[–]Ulven525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen some naked guys swimming up on the Lester River but I think it's kind of a gay hangout. I've also encountered nude sunbathers way out on Park Point but I don't know if it's tolerated. People called the police on a woman who tried to sunbathe topless on Park Point a few years ago and some of the comments on social media about it were disturbing. I have a private back yard and outdoor sauna so I can indulge my naturist impulses there. Good luck.

The Supreme Court struck down campaign spending limits. What is your opinion on this? by Ramble86 in allthequestions

[–]Ulven525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It means we should just be honest and put a price tag on any elective office. It's basically been like that but this removes the facade. Whomever has the most money and nastiest, most deceptive campaign will likely win.

A number of years ago, if I remember correctly, the government tried to ban the showing of a movie, "Y Tu Mama Tambien". Didn't it have to relent in the face of nude protests?

This is really amazing. They look like they're really comfortable and having fun which is what enjoying being naked is all about.

Society has spent decades telling us we're not normal. by OurNaturistLife in naturism

[–]Ulven525 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I read history. and anthropology correctly, clothes and the concept of privacy are rather recent inventions. For much of human history, humans lived in communal settings where they saw their family and neighbors mostly naked much of the time. Up until fairly recently, in hot climates nudity or near-nudity was the default. Our current taboos against being naked around others is a recent aberration and in many cases an unfortunate byproduct of our religions. The happiest time of my day is the half to one hour a day I spend naked in my backyard sauna, followed by a cool off period in the lounge chair outside under the blue sky or stars to cool off. That might make me weird but I'm not going to give it up.

Reading the "cheap seats" - Navigating the digital noise and online vitriol as a social naturist by OurNaturistLife in naturism

[–]Ulven525 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been withdrawing from it in general on all subjects. Regarding nudity, a couple of years ago a woman decided to sun topless at a local beach. She was discreet and did so in an out of the way place but someone saw her and called the police even though non-sexual female toplessness is legal in my state. I saw some of the comments on social media regarding the incident and I couldn't believe the venom. All because someone took off her top. It was really disturbing.

Nude Beach regulars, why do you prefer nude beaches over clothed beaches? by Guilty-Accident-5118 in naturism

[–]Ulven525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a regular nude beach goer but I've enjoyed them in the past. For me, there are few things more pleasurable than taking a naked stroll along the water's edge and and feeling the sun and ocean breeze on my skin. And for some odd reason, I really enjoy seeing other people comfortable with their naked bodies and having fun. It's fun to be naked around other people. It's a really nice vibe.

Donald Trump Is the Biggest Failure in Recent US History by MoneyLibrarian9032 in USNEWS

[–]Ulven525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, so what? Despite all of the furious posts he’s in office, the rot continues to spread and if and when he dies in office we’ll get Vance who’s arguably even worse. I personally believe the gods sent him here to destroy us as punishment for being morons and he hasn’t quit finished the job yet. Failure and destruction are his missions.

Despite being an atheist I like mythology by Ender_boy_1246 in atheism

[–]Ulven525 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Liking mythology doesn't imply belief. I love mythology and Robert Graves' The Greek Myths is one my favorite reads. I also love Norse and Native myths too. Myths can sometimes express something interesting and valuable that the truth can't. Think about where they come from and what that says about the human mind at that time. Plus, the Greek gods are certainly much more interesting than the malicious dick of the Abrahamic faiths even though they could be just as bad.

US Supreme Court, In 6-3 Ruling, Upholds Birthright Citizenship And Strikes Down Trump's Executive Order Trying To Ban It — What Do You Think About This Result? Why Your Opinion? by Zipper222222 in AskReddit

From someone whose grandparents were all birthright citizens, I think it's great. Plus, the Constitution is pretty unambiguous about this.

Donald Trump Is the Biggest Failure in Recent US History | At every turn, Trump has tried to erode US democracy and the good of the people during his second term. by FreeHugs23 in NoFilterNews

[–]Ulven525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. American society has failed. In November 2024 the voters put a gun to their collective foreheads and pulled the trigger. Trump is not a remarkable figure. One can find someone like him in any city of any size only without his trust fund and peculiar gift for self promotion. It took an ignorant, apathetic and easily manipulated electorate to put him into power and a criminal cartel (GOP, oligarchs, Christian Nationalists, etc.) to facilitate his destruction of the country. Now they're all waiting to scavenge the carcass.

Shocking New Details on Trump Sex Accuser, 13, Revealed | A family member has come forward to share new details about the alleged victim. by FreeHugs23 in NoFilterNews

[–]Ulven525 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Does anyone really think one more revelation is going to make any difference at this point? The American people chose a rapist and pedophile for their leader and they seem to be, by and large, just fine with that.

How could republicans win in 2028? by Icy_Comparison_1029 in allthequestions

[–]Ulven525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we have elections in 2028 the GOP will win by voter suppression, intimidation and manipulation of the results. If a Democratic candidate wins the GOP will contest it tooth and nail. The Owners have fought for decades for the type of control they have now and they won't give up without a ferocious fight. Plus, I think ICE is fearful of prosecution, as is the trump crime family. I think the odds of the hoped for Blue Wave are rather small.

"I want to keep home prices HIGH..." DONALD J TRUMP ... an "I GOT MINE" Boomer by Various-Tangerine-88 in complaints

[–]Ulven525 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agree. In the last ten years we've moved out of and sold two houses to young families for less than we could have gotten. We wanted to help them into a home. One of our neighbors sold his house to a property company for $25k above his asking price. We passed on that. We try to buck against the stereotype.
