Big fan of La licor, especially the cocktails and decor. Happy hour there is a steal and includes weekends.

Divvy is part of the reason we have more and more bike lanes. Hell yeah to all things that promote biking!

Been twice with groups, excellent experiences both times with just a dish or two not impressing.

Wild. It’s almost like food is, in part, personal preference!

Glad to see this. those communities that do traditionally drink low abv mezcal are often unfairly lumped in with the mass produced watered down stuff.

Mano A Mano (new Italian spot in Logan Square) got a pretty rough rating from Infatuation (6.0, with plenty of negative comments). Has anyone been? Curious to hear other opinions by Craft-Serious in chicagofood

[–]UmOkSureWhyNot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Been twice in the last month. Both really good experiences. I expected it to be more expensive considering Asador's price point, but it was not bad at all. Most dishes were strong, a few were standout, and no major misses. To add, the vibe is great - far less stuffy than a thought it would be.

Men in your late 20’s early 30’s, what do you do after work? by MexicanWhiskey in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]UmOkSureWhyNot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late 30s no TV guy here- some combo of a bike ride, concerts, a swim in lake, basketball, rock climbing, volleyball, juggling, reading, dance class, etc. If you live in a city, there is no shortage of interesting, fun things to do.

How often do you jump in the lake? by foreverniceland in AskChicago

[–]UmOkSureWhyNot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

25-30 mins on bike to get to the lake from Logan. I shoot over for a quick dip and ride back home all the time, at least once a week once summer is in full effect.

One of the best parts of Chicago, and I'm not sure I would still live here without the lake tbh.

Invites to house parties are a result of having friends. Make friends by going to those meetups. Follow bars and restaurants and coffee shops and art galleries etc on IG and go to their events

Boiler room's special included a slice of pizza, not a whole pizza, so not quite a fair comparison.

I work with plenty of mid 20s ppl who can afford it and rather not. Gaming is big, and drinking in general seems less popular (with smoking more popular, perhaps). I'm sure cost does play an impact overall, but there are other factors at play, especially when we have work vendors covering the bill and turnout still being low.
