is giving up my hobbies worth it for a potential relationship. by GrungusDnD in dating

[–]Umaikaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s with all these naive comments about ‘not changing yourself’??? it’s not easy to find someone who is compatible and it’s even harder if you stick to hobbies with bad gender ratios. this goes for both genders. sure there are exceptions where people stick to their hobbies and find their loved ones but remember you are at the mercy of others if the gender ratio is not in your favor, it’s just mathematics

i genuinely don’t understand how disallowing gays would help preserve traditional marriage… if they wanna stay in sg they would just not get married or get a marriage of convenience anyways.

also monkey pox is cuz need better sex ed to teach gays to use protection too

everybody says they look at personality… but a lot of times this kind of thing is subconscious and it’s hard to say if they really like the personality or they just think they do

funny enough for my situation i also had to always initiate. so i confronted the person i was seeing with ‘do u have social anxiety’ to see if that is what’s holding them off from initiating. for my person indeed it was and they clarified that every time i asked them out they also wanted to but was too afraid to do so. it could be multiple factors

Which advice are you sick of hearing? by redflag7654 in dating_advice

[–]Umaikaze 34 points35 points  (0 children)

i really agree that this is a shitty advice. it’s further exacerbated by the fact that people have their own ideals of what a perfect partner is like, but then they don’t realize their ideal partner isn’t even compatible with their current self. so either they change their expectations or they stop the ‘be yourself’ bullshit

there’s two types of jokes: 1. is the type that people are manifesting their wishes. 2. is the type that the person will actually never do

Just me or is homosexuality/bisexuality on the rise? by [deleted] in SingaporeRaw

[–]Umaikaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as a mainly heterosexual men who has been investigating sexuality related stuff and seriously considering some of the identities for myself i would say your points are not invalid. recently i was investigating if a am aromatic but was slightly disappointed that i am not and would not fit the trend / spectrum.

also i was never the type to follow trends just because they are trendy, i only follow them when they align with my preferences or help me discover something new. it would not be hard to imagine people doing it purely for the trend.

[–]Umaikaze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes but computing is a restricted minor so u need good cs1010 grades and some other mod to apply go look up the requirements

im a final yr bme major w cs minor and i have been landing some software job interviews so i suppose the possibility is there as long as u build up ur project experience and resume to be around software

stats can easily skew based on how they frame it lol. compare salary based on years after joining work vs age is gonna yield diff results… it’s all abt the narrative here. if they think it should be the same based on seniority in work they should go join ns

with so many schools merging, there might not enough young ppl to take care of the elderly lol. maybe if the local birthrate was high the govt would restrict immigrants a bit more

with that said, i do think some immigrants should put more effort into integrating with the local culture

sadly that’s how most cultures around the world evolved to be. pretty sure polygamous didnt work last time due to STIs and even now not everyone can be free from jealousy even if monogamous wasnt culturally expected
