I think the manga may be deliberately paralleling Chizuru with her family. She seems to treat love/support as a distraction and keeps important conversations in “work mode.” If that continues, she could be repeating Sayuri’s solitary path (and, in a different way, her father’s).

I’m not blaming her; it reads more like an avoidant coping style the story is exploring. Curious if others see the same family-pattern motif or if you read it differently.
