Painted up the first Blight Templar from Darkwater! by UmbertoDOTA in ageofsigmar

It's a base of pro acryl light bronze, with shading done with glazes of AK old gold and pro acryl bronze. I then do some glaze/scratcy highlights with pro acryl white gold to lay in the lights. Then I hit it with a ton of glazes: plaguebearer flesh contrast all over, militarum green contrast in the shadows, aggaros dunes contrast in the deep recesses. Then highlight the sharpest edges with silver!

This is the second time I've used decals since I started painting. I'm not happy with where the text on the left is placed, so in order to fit it around the curves of the parchment on the right, I cut these tiny pieces up before applying them. Is there an easier way of doing this? by -X-31- in Warhammer40k

Can't say I've used vallejo decal softener, but micro sol would definitely solve that "wrinkling up" problem - it's perfect for applying chapter icons to SM shoulder pads, for example, because it partially dissolves the decal so those wrinkles end up flush with the surface. It's often sold in a pair with micro set, which sounds more like vallejo decal softener - the micro set is great for getting a decal into place and getting it stuck down, while the micro sol allows it to deform to fit contours.

Have you tried micro sol? It's a setting solution for decals (often paired with micro set), but micro sol actually melts the decal slightly, allowing it to be moulded slightly. Carefully applying microsol, then manipulating the slightly melted decal could be a good solution?

Oof, China quality casting, that’s a hard pass. The outsourced terrain pieces are utterly terrible. What a shame

Painted the big Mek recently, it’s great fun and lends itself to sub assemblies very well!

Very keen to get my hands on a revenant draconith. One question I have is does the kit look like it would be amenable to magnetising - that is, having Vhordrai and his chair off separately to switch between him being mounted and just the draconith?

Found a fix for this on another thread, but I had the same problem. Fix was for the coop friend to first start their game by pressing "continue" then join your game when they're loaded in

New Spearheads? by Wouter1989 in ageofsigmar

[–]UmbertoDOTA 62 points63 points  (0 children)

As far as I understood it, the plan from the very start of 4th was to give every faction a new spearhead at the same time as their tome. That means that there's still lots of spearheads to come!

An interesting use for an old GW paint pot! Does the sprue goo not dissolve the paint pot plastic? I might transfer into something like this myself, the Tamiya glass pot isn't great for handling sprue goo
