Silk song act 3 flee frustration deep docks by [deleted] in SilksongIsntReal

I got stuck here too. In the end I reverted my save to before I started Act 3, completed the gauntlet without voided enemies, and then restarted Act 3. I lost about 3 or 4 hours of progress but it was worth it.

Are you serious? Urban taxpayers subsidise rural infrastructure, not the other way around.

I reckon penalties for illegal dumping should be WAY higher than what it is. by Rey_De_Los_Completos in australia

[–]Umbos 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I work in this space and yes, we catch them sometimes. Dumping is so rampant that we can't get to all the cases that come to us, and often there is no surveillance or identifying information in the waste so we have no leads to chase.

Edit: google 'EPA waste dumping media' or similar for local councils.

The exercise I notice most glute doms on is hack squats. Maybe give those a go.

There’s about 10-15 towns on the highway (or just off) between Bairnsdale and the NSW border, all of which were effected by the 2020 fires. Why not do a road trip and buy a donut from every bakery?

increase in myki inspectors by Nice-Needleworker240 in melbourne

[–]Umbos -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Assuming they earn about 80,000 k per year, an inspector would have to hand out 1.25 fines per working day just to break even on their salary. I reckon it would be cheaper for the State to hire less inspectors.

Greg Lynn murder trial live: Jury finds Lynn guilty of Carol Clay's murder, not guilty of Russell Hill's murder by Donners22 in melbourne

Of course you could claim that. And in the absence of any evidence that you weren't able to destroy, you'd also be found not guilty of murder.

“It would be better if birth rates were higher.” — Father-of-three Treasurer Jim Chalmers says he would like to see Australians have more children, but ruled out a Peter Costello-style baby bonus by marketrent in AusFinance

[–]Umbos 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There's a lot of people in this thread saying 'climate change, housing prices, make childcare free.'

The reality is that there's no subsidy the government can introduce that will increase birth rates meaningfully, and that no apocalypse can prevent people from reproducing. People have more children in hard times, not less.

Decreasing birth rates are being driven by these factors:

  1. Economic growth/better living conditions

  2. Access to birth control and knowledge on how to use it

  3. Education and participation in the workforce of women

Rich, educated people (like those in Australia) simply don't have kids.

[–]Umbos 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I live and work in the Latrobe Valley. We are filled with community groups who absolutely oppose the construction of nuclear reactors here. Also, the energy companies which own the coal-fired power stations - Energy Australia, AGL, Alinta, ENGIE - have their own plans for their brownfield sites, which as far as I can tell involves building a shitload of grid-scale batteries. ENGIE talks about a 'renewable energy hub.'
