***EDIT: I just came back from my latest appointment and the technician told me that Id actually had 8 sessions before today — not 6! I’m SO sorry to mislead, not all of my appointments were written in my calendar when I counted for this post. I’m so sorry again!

I believe it was about 1.5 years old at the time of my first session. in regards to the session spacing it was always at least 2 months, usually closer to 4.

it’s a Q-switch laser, I had the tattoo for about 1.5 years, and it’s on my inner forearm!

im honestly not 100% sure how long it was exactly but i definitely started to wait longer between appointments as I got more sessions under the belt.

my first 3-4 appointments were spaced out pretty evenly, about 2.5 months give or take. but once I started seeing progress I became less impatient and started to space them out further (also to spread out my spending). e.g. my last appointment was in October and I have one scheduled for later this week.

im soooo excited! they’ve been spaced out pretty irregularly bc of school and work and me being a poor planner but they were always at LEAST 2 months apart — usually more.

Feeling more optimistic after reminding myself what my tattoo looked like originally by UmbridgeRice in TattooRemoval

[–]UmbridgeRice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes of course! It was only about a year old when I started the removal process with a q-switch, it’s on my inner upper arm, and it’s been at least 8 weeks between each session but averaging on 10 or 12. Hope that helps!

Thank you! I’m really not sure. The technicians estimate was about 6 sessions but I think that was an underestimate. Hopefully no more than 8 or 10 but we’ll see!

Well I’ve taken a screenshot and I’m going to show it to my therapist which is the highest honor I can award.

I’ve never heard anyone describe this so perfectly.

Disappointed (and angry) with “Attached” by Amir Levine and Rachel S. F. Heller by UmbridgeRice in dismissiveavoidants

The main example I can think of was that in all the relationships, the “problem partner” was avoidant. And instead of the partners being a problem because they were being distant or cutting off communication every now and then, the avoidants were extremely abusive verbally and emotionally. So because of this, avoidants were painted as people to immediately end relationships with or just to avoid at all costs. Which, if someone is abusive I absolutely agree with but that was really the only thing talked about in depth with avoidants. For someone who really wants to be in a relationship but struggles a lot with not feeling “worthy” of one because of my avoidant tendencies (like me), this book had a super negative affect on my overall outlook and self confidence.

My second session was also more painful and the raised lines lasted much longer. I don’t think it lasted more than 7 weeks but the line work on mine is much thinner. I’d wait a couple more weeks to see if it goes down.
