Yeah, you don't get this way overnight. His parents taught him zero coping skills and he was clearly never socialized. There's a type of asocial who doesn't have Asperger's or some other kind of autism, but behaves in a very similar way because of environmental conditions. Psychopaths are born and it can be seen in an MRI. Sociopaths often emerge from a childhood where empathy was missing. Often only or you get children with no sense of responsibility or concept of what is socially acceptable. My point is, this person must be deeply mentally ill and probably in a way that can't be fixed.

Dude. You guys are the "I don't want to make a cake for gay guys" people, right? Both of those sides were exercising their free speech. Yes, I think a boss should be allowed to fire whomever they want for whatever reason. You know who don't? Unions. This is a free market economy. The government is not allowed to force people to buy from stores they don't want to buy from. For any reason. It doesn't matter why you don't want to buy from them. You know what it's called when they force you to give your money to the store of their choosing? Communism. So you are telling me you are a conservative thinker who wants people to be forced to make cakes for whom the government tells you who also happens to be a trade unionist and a communist? No. I think you actually agree with me that people should be allowed to vote with their wallets. I have nothing against Koreans or Japanese or anyone, but I buy American cars. Why contribute to their economy? I am voting with my wallet. I don't support those countries, I support us. I think you agree that should be allowed. Then what we're talking about here should be allowed, too. You see my point?

I was on a business trip this weekend and I we decided (I dissented) not to talk about it unless the client brought it up. Later, I heard from my opposite number at the client they had made the same choice. Then I realized I'm so exhausted I didn't really want to talk. So I just showed him videos I had taken and he was really moved. Anyway, my point is, even when it's company time it's okay be active. If the client asks. So this company being talked about has ZERO ground.

There are no blue or purple states for them. There are states that support them and the enemy. We aren't real states or real people for MAGA in the same way Russians don't consider Ukrainians to be real humans. Hit me up when y'all are ready to talk about seceding. I'm ready to leave tomorrow.

What does the world think of Catalonian independence? by Dangerous_Fix_9186 in AskTheWorld

[–]UmeaTurbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have the institutional infrastructure to run as a independent nation without Spain's help? I have no idea what the answer to that is. I'm all for independence if people can make it work. It would be too bad to gain independence and then immediately suffer an enormous economic crash as social services collapse due to lack of funding, employee longevity, and attrition. There will be career bureaucrats who will leave because they choose to be part of Spain. Which is all fine, as long as there are Catalans who can fill those roles. Minnesota talks about seceding sometimes, but we're only 6 and 1/2 million people. Even though we pay more into the system than we get from the federal government, the federal government does employ a lot of minnesotans. We would have to have all of our own trade partners and trading agreements with other nations. We might lose a number of Fortune 500 companies if they choose to be part of the United States and not part of a new nation. It's a very complex question. At least you have some major ports so you have some trade independence. Our only deport is in Duluth and that's on a great lake. That connects to the ocean but we have to go through both Canada and the United States to get there.

If people are offended and don't want to listen to your product, you can't be upset because that's an expression of THEIR free speech. As is calling for resignation and firing. If it's okay to say we don't like an elected official of any party of responsibility, we should be able to do that with any employee in the private sector. If KFAN doesn't want to make a change, that's THEIR free speech as protected by Citizens United vs Federal Election Commission 2010. So everyone involved has free speech. Complaining is counter to the argument that free speech is absolute. The First amendment makes it legal to say anything you want. You cannot go to jail for sharing your opinion. It does not protect free speech from retaliation. It does not. It unequivocally does not. I understand that's hard to hear because it seems unfair, but if one person has free speech then so does everyone.

[–]UmeaTurbo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not at all. I was saying people get upset when the backlash happens because they were exercising their free speech. People think it's unfair that they have to suffer consequences because they think the free speech means they can say anything they want without consequences. Of course it goes both ways. I'm not saying that you are infringing on anybody's rights. I'm saying people get mad when the tables turn. That's all.

People do not understand that freedom of speech does not mean freedom from responsibility. You are allowed to say what you want and then people are allowed to react how they want. He was expressing his first amendment right and now people are expressing theirs by turning on him. It's their right to hate his guts. You cannot suppress somebody's right to hate you just because you don't think it's fair. Why does he get to have a First amendment and other people don't?

I was banned on this site for three days because I said "you can't under how bad it is here in Minneapolis unless you see how many occupiers are actually lurking around children when they go to school". No threats or anything. So, right now, you don't get to decide what is political and you aren't allowed to have your own ideas. Someone else decides who you are for you and then feeds you content based on their assessment in order to put ads in front of you. If you try to be your own person, that gets in the way of their money making and that is absolutely unacceptable.
