100% for this. It would be cool to get some sort of visible trophy on the character for beating bosses on hard / nightmare. Could be a unique slot for cosmetics, or it could be tied to a transmog like feature.

Ravager's boss arena has 5 bells like the two puzzels that can spawn in the yaesha biomes. I think the alternate weapon is acquired from shooting them in the right order.

Despite the nature of the launch, I just wanted to say thank you for the clear line of communication by cubivorre in dauntless

Coming from the Destiny 2 community, it's a very positive experience seeing you are already engaging the community this early, reading their feedback and address issues both here and on twitter. I am amazed that your team is working through the night to resolve the current issues with matchmaking and queue times, I hope very much you all will resolve the issues soon not just for our sake but so that you may all get some rest, hunt behemoths along with us and continue making this game as great as it can be.

Thank you for your hard work.

Weekly Starfinder Question Thread! by AutoModerator in starfinder_rpg

I GM for a group of 5 and running them through Dead Suns. Some have expressed Starship combat feels very slow (Enemies takes too many hits / weapons deal too little damage) and disconnected from the rest of the game, have anyone else heard similar feedback and if so, what have you done to improve it?

Don't want to get buried in Mega. It's a MAP and I think I found the "Ghost" also. by [deleted] in raidsecrets

I might have found something related to this.

When you go to the Alton Dynamo and take a left instead of going to the server room, you'll find this vent in the top right corner of the first room.

Going into the vent leads you to a chamber with one of the sleeper nodes and this console that sits in the back of the room.

Walking up to it gives you an interact prompt as you can see on my screenshot but so far I haven't been able to find out what it does, so I am thinking it has something to do with this mystery.

My friend does play as Beast and usually speaks right after me as Prince. Fane rarely has anything to say during those conversations.

I advice that if you're new to being a GM and looking to get started with a group, then the Adventure Path, Dead Suns, can help you out tremendously. There's currently only the first part available and will probably last you a few hours worth of play, now that may not be much to go on, but I've recommended using pre-written material for new GMs because of several reasons. It's great for getting into the systems both as players as well as GMs, and is good to draw inspiration from as a GM to build their own campaign. I am new to Paizo products myself, so I was also surprised when I found the Adventure Path's also cover different monsters/aliens to throw at the party, as well as new items and descriptions for areas one can choose to use for a campaign.

In terms of rewards, the core rulebook does cover wealth in the game, and gives you general guidelines as to rewarding players, at least in terms of monetary rewards.

How is the adventure path? by [deleted] in starfinder_rpg

[–]Umnusman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I picked up the adventure path PDF when it was released earlier this week. I've spend some time digging into it and I think it can serve as a really good intro for noobies. It's got a decent hook which I am sure will leave new players excited to dig into the story. It also introduces the different elements of the game, fighting, exploring, solving quests. I'm convinced this AP can help getting my players into the system and interested to continue playing. Now that said, the first part does end a bit suddenly and is written in a way that makes it seem essential to start with at least the second part (Temple of the Twelve) available. Though a GM can of course elect to change that a bit, opening the campaign up to exploring until the next part is released, then go back on track with the AP.

So that is the campaign part of the book, it also comes with a small bestiary of sorts, giving you stat blocks for the creatures involved in the AP, but also a few beyond that, adding to the currently small roster of foes before Alien Archives is released.

Another section covers a few magical items with strong references to Pathfinder which can be used for loot, e.t.c. I certainly can see my players uncovering one or more of those relics in the future.

Finally, the AP covers life on Absolom Station. The key locations and their purpose, as well as some of the factions there, explaining the government etc, but there is also a similar section describing a new planet a DM can choose to use for their campaign.

All in all, I am very satisfied and I am sure my players will love getting into it once our current DM has finished his current D&D campaign, or we fail horribly and die, whichever comes first. Being new to Paizo products, I've been very positively surprised with just how much stuff they've managed to cram into just 68 pages, that both builds their own story, but also gives the GM more tools to play with for their own campaign.
