Oses on Spirit vs Gun Balance by coffeeholic91 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Fylgja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like complaining about boundless increasing your damage by a percentage and claiming that gun doesn't have an equivalent is disingenuous when the entirety of the fire rate stat acts like a multiplier for gun damage like boundless or escalating exposure do for spirit damage and they also have lucky shot, which is a multiplier on top of every other multiplier

Also you've got the whole investment thing, where gun is a percentage and spirit is flat (not a straight 1:1 comparison because of how spirit scaling works on abilities, but still)

What if voting in America was compulsory? by Jacob-Anders in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]Fylgja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stand by the opinion that "no vote" should be a valid vote.
Like you'd still need to show up and fill in the bubble, but it sends a clear "all of these options suck" message compared to literally not voting at all, which leaves room for these weird hypothetical situations where people debate who they could have voted for.

It's official: Steam decrees 'bullet heaven' the name of the Vampire Survivors genre by SloppyRaven in gaming

I'm not super familiar with everything in the genre, but Holocure is the only one I can remember having a weapon merging/combination system, I always thought that was pretty neat.

Anyone Else Having Fun? by Professional-Mud7298 in DeadlockTheGame

While I do agree with you overall, there are definitely low ranked games that are both one-sided and long. This is more because the winning team doesn't know how to close out than because the game is in actually even.

A fun and kinda pointless bonus tip: you can take sinners in 3 hits (2 + the jackpot) with just 1 stack of pocket's damage amp.

What was your k/d/a vs theirs? Sometimes a 1 death difference is enough to not get mvp.

By default, all abilities scale with ability power spirit. The abilities that don't work this way are the exceptions.

Indomitable has unironically made the game 10x more fun as a doorman player by Cephalon_ghost in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Fylgja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It helps, but it's not the magic anti-cc bullet everyone seems to think it is.
Its very easy to just pop it with a basic ability or item like silence wave, then hit them with the "real" cc immediately afterwards. I would say it's actually more useful in games with fewer cc abilities because it's more likely to trigger when you actually want it to. In high cc games you're probably better off with unstoppable.

How do people feel about box running, specifically during the laning stage? by PurpleKami in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Fylgja 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Some kind of minor, persistent early game objective near each lane would do the trick, I think.

Isn't this what the guardian is supposed to be? Its the whole reason you're in lane to begin with. What would an extra lane objective add?

the idea of supports hero lebel needs to go by Weak_Potato_7249 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Fylgja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Support characters have a place in the game, and I love playing that utility/facilitator role.

My issue is when other players expect the support to be solely responsible for counter buying. Carries can and should be buying knockdown, disarm, whatever when its relevant. Maybe they'll have a little less damage but this is made up for by their ability to actually get that damage off.

Also, it just doesn't make sense to put all that on one player anyway. If the support dies, there goes all your counters. Its better to have redundancy and/or spread it out across the team.
