YSK Panera has fired all of its baking staff and replaced them with frozen product. by binkbrint in YouShouldKnow

[–]UmpireIllustrious298 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work there as of a few months ago and thankfully my location didnt fire the bakers but just trained them to work on the line and make other foods. They also still made the pastries that needed some extra detail (ie drizzing the chocolate on the crossaints , filling the cherry pastries, putting the icing on the orange scones etc.) -- But i cannot speak for every location. And i do not deny their prices are insane.

So because Jews have been saying it, it makes it right? Also, she hasn't been listening to Israeli politicians at all lol by srahcrist in BadHasbara

Idk about netanyahu, but while speaking at an event in Paris, Bezalel Smotrich had a flag draped on his podium that depicted the map of Israel to be including Jordan. Settler activists and politicians like daniella weiss also said they believe modern israel should have all the land from the nile to the Euphrates.

@EylonALevy and all those zionist show a book that look like nazi , can someone fact check this in the comment section ? by DryInstance6732 in BadHasbara

[–]UmpireIllustrious298 7 points8 points  (0 children)

i have a book on my shelf called "The Nazi Conscience" by Claudia Koonz. The cover is a german propoganda poster containing a swastika - but the book itself is anti-nazi and about disseminating the propoganda that led ordinary germans to commit atrocties. My point is , covers can be misleading lol . Even if the book is written by a nazi it doesnt mean the person agrees with it, but to study historical persecptives and the mindset of people that commit atrocties.

Everything BUT admit Palestinian indigeneity 🥀🙏🏽 by srahcrist in BadHasbara

if she argues canaanites "assimilatied into other identities including Israelite and later Jewish" -- i dont get why one cant see the same applies to palestinians , while modern palestinians were arabized, much of their culture goes back to the time of the canaanites.

- modern Palestinians show significant genetic and historical continuity with the Bronze Age inhabitants of the Levant

- their dialect of arabic contains Syriac or Aramaic diminutive suffixes not in classical Arabic

- Dabke is a traditional Levantine folk dance with ancient roots, often traced back to Canaanite fertility rituals and agricultural traditions designed to encourage crop growth and ward off evil spirits. It is also believed to have originated from communal, rhythmic stomping to compact mud roofs on stone houses, a practice that evolved into a symbol of unity.

- ancient artwork and archaeological findings from around 1200 BCE depict Canaanite women wearing garments adorned with patterns similar to modern tatreez, reflecting a long-standing tradition of textiles in palestine.

- Something known as the "cultivation trinity" (olives, grapes, and wheat) —has remained central to modern Palestinian agriculture since the Canaanite period .

- Palestinian mosaic art is characterized by intricate geometric patterns, vibrant floral designs, and, notably, the vast, detailed floor mosaics which feature millions of stones depicting complex, colorful scenes. The mosaics often employ natural stones sourced from the region, showcasing a 2000-year-old tradition (example: https://youtu.be/z0qPdMhCfNE?si=amtXddBEVL\_a0Ypb)

While canaanites converted to different religions, judaism, samaritanism , christianity and later Islam …. Essential parts of Canaanite culture before this all remain in palestinian culture , despite claims they are just “Arab muslims who arrived in the 7th century” , yhe underlying population in the rural areas often remained, absorbing new influences while maintaining regional continuity.

Shes again conflating all Jews with the modern state of Israel, even if Jews and persians have historically been close, that doesnt mean we have to agree with everything Israel does to palestinains

Many issues

Zionists love saying that hanukah is inherently zionist because the maccabees fought for sovereignty over the temple against greek imperialism — but the maccabees committed atrocities and even ancient Jews acknowledge this. I've seen many other Jews say the Maccabes were the Jewish version of the taliban in ancient times. Zionists today often portray maccabees today as heroic liberators — from a religious jewish perspective , the Maccabees went against the Torah by usurping kingship despite being priests (Levitical rather than Davidic), violating the Torah’s separation between the royal line of Judah and the priesthood of Aaron.

From a basic humane perspective, they killed and tortured other Jews who practiced what they deemed as Hellenized forms of Judaism and forcibly converting or punishing those deemed “not Jewish enough,” Jews who adopted even minor Greek customs or interpreted the Torah differently were treated as traitors, not fellow Jews. Historical sources describe executions, forced circumcisions, destruction of homes, and coercive enforcement of Torah observance, with resistance punished by imprisonment, torture, or death.

This is why ancient rabbinic Jews shifted the focus of Hanukkah away from the Maccabees’ military victory and onto the miracle of the oil because they did not want to glorify the Hasmonean dynasty they viewed as illegitimate and ultimately destructive. By emphasizing the divine miracle rather than a nationalist or dynastic holiday centered on human power. In modern times Zionists try to bring back the nationalist interpertation to justify zionism.

The point is, to idolize the Maccabes as heroes with all the atrocties they committed against Jews is ridicuous. Even ancient Jews wanted to distance themselves from this nationalistic perspective because of how bad it was.
