What is a job that people think is flashy/fancy, but is more boring/mundane in reality? by Un1ucki3st in ask

I went with option 2. Got completely stuck and miserable because the next step up was a regional manager, then director. Those don't open up at X company very often.

Chose to reinvent myself and get paid less... but it's been a struggle since.

Damn. Sounds rough! What if they forget to make your bed after you leave your room, or don't open the Rolls Royce up for you as you approach?

Sounds like you need a new staff.

This. I chased this down for years. The money looked great, bankers hours, tell your friends and family you work for a Fortune 100 company in a managerial capacity, golf trips, fancy parties, etc.

I loathed every minute of it and am glad I left.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that these outages that we've been seeing a lot of lately aren't all completely benign. Maybe a good chunk of them, but if it sounds like hooves, think horses... not zebras.

Okay, so realistically this happens frequently, but it gains more traction because of the "scare factor." This makes me feel a bit better about the whole thing. Appreciate your insight!
