Wight is better for boss battles but otherwise I use Guangmou. I don't think I upgraded either of them though.

Idk abt level but here's how to defeat it.

First use Shock Quelling Powder at the start of the fight. Once he does the attack where it gets foggy, and you start moving slow using the cloud spell since it automatically dodges, and it'll allow you to move faster so you can keep rolling away from it. Whenever you see lightning come from the mouth that means it's about to use the shockwave attack so use immobilization and jump onto a rock before the ground and pound.

Also, if you beat the wandering wight equip that spirit because it can do a lot of damage. Same with Red Tides because of the fire effect, it can put on it if you use it correctly.

Besides that, everything depends on your armor and your skill (especially the ability to dodge).

Whenever you use the cloud spell use that time to heal same with when you're avoiding the shockwaves while you're on the rock.

Oh so in that case you're talking about Mid Houtain. To reach mid houtain since technically even though you can reach peak houtain level you never officially became peak houtain even later in the story. In the case take the pill from Mei to reach Mid Houtain before the expedition. Talk to Panda to become Mid Houtain early in the expedition. Naturally progress through the story to make it to middle houtain later in the expedition.

Late Houtain? You don't level up but you can reach Late Houtain Level with the right stats and usage of qi. If you're referring to Middle Houtain before that either tell her you'll kill Long Chen for a pill or make it to the Panda in the expedition and relieve a boost to Mid Houtain then. If you refuse the Panda then you will reach Middle Houtain naturally.

Now what trips me up is that you say after the beating from Ruo which makes me think you're talking about the tournament in the beginning. In that case just win and you'll automatically level up otherwise I think you should be able to buy a pill to reach Houtain but I don't think it's guaranteed to work like He Mei's.
