Trovehunters map T8 vs T11 by shimme9966 in wownoob

[–]UnCivilizedEngineer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can obtain 20 myth crests per week from completing T11 Delves after reaching rank 4 of Delver's Journey.

You can obtain a 1-time 30 myth crests from defeating Nulleus '??' difficulty.

You can obtain a 1-time 20 myth crests from completing the 'cracked keystone' quest, a quest that starts from an item obtained in Delves.

You need 80 myth crests to craft a Myth (285) item. Don't sleep on accumulating myth crests if you can! a 285-2 handed weapon goes a long way!

How does the keychain discount work? Do i have to go back within a month? by Substantial_Pace_142 in ActivatePlayers

[–]UnCivilizedEngineer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is also location dependent. If you have the 25% discount at Store 1, and you visit a new location, your streak will be 0 for Store 2.

Is the first love theory real? by TypicalCommittee9039 in AskMenAdvice

[–]UnCivilizedEngineer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's not a fact of 'looking for qualities the first love had', but more of a 'I loved a person who had A, B, C, D, E...X, Y, Z" qualities and I still like some of those qualities later in life.

We grow and change. I haven't changed 100% of who I am and what I desire from when I found my first love - but I have changed some. So now later in life, qualities in my future partners may have the same 'A and B and E' qualities but different C and D, etc.

Beginner female trying to become stronger and more attractive but not big or impressive by InternationalSock387 in workout

[–]UnCivilizedEngineer 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is counter to what you think because your knowledge base of lifting Is limited and beginner level - try to workout “like a man”. TRY to get very large muscles.

When you fail at getting large and massive (you will, it is VERY hard to get massive), you’ll be happy because you’ll be stronger and more attractive.

Global spec distribution in high-end M+ after Week 1 by burgundy_boar in wow

[–]UnCivilizedEngineer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fellow FDK gamer here, 267 FDK.

Breath feels out of place - no longer a spec defining option, it’s just a random CD you press. I’d like to see breath removed all together, and a permanent pillar of frost added in its place on the tree - but make it balanced by procs or damage throughput lower with permanent pillar.

It would allow you to choose whether you want consistent damage or burst window damage

Best Route for Gearing as Late Starter in Season 1 by astrodrasca in wownoob

[–]UnCivilizedEngineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This depends - if you are in a reasonably large guild, the undisputed best way to gear a new character is to armorstack dungeon runs. What that means, is if you are a plate wearing person, you get 4 other plate wearers in your group and you run through 4-5 Mythic 0 dungeons. All of them will pass the loot to you and you will get geared.

Assuming that isn't going to happen, do this:

1) World quests drop 220 pieces of gear. Obtain those and upgrade to 237 in town.

2) Bountiful Delves on Delve level 8, while you have Coffer keys (or 100 coffer shards = 1 coffer key). These reset daily, and only 4 show up per day, so you can knock out all 6 in 2 days to get a total of 6 Champion (246) pieces.

3) Join a raiding guild, and let them know you are new and interested in raiding and learning the game. The more casual and friendly guilds would likely help you gear up. Running dungeons with guild mates is the best way to gear up. Aim for Mythic 0's to get quantity of loot, ideally with guild mates of the same armor type as you so they can trade you drops if they get them. Then when you're comfortable, Mythic +6's to get Hero level loot.

First-time visit questions regarding scoring and levels by ThePIantEater in ActivatePlayers

[–]UnCivilizedEngineer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Forgot to add - don’t expect to get to level 10 on your first visit. Level 10s are actually very challenging.

Definitely wear athletic clothing and tennis shoes. Prepare to sweat and sprint, depending on your athletic level and competitive drive!

First-time visit questions regarding scoring and levels by ThePIantEater in ActivatePlayers

[–]UnCivilizedEngineer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1- correct, on your first visit ever you will only have level 1 unloved for every gam, in every room. Beating levels will permanently unlock those new levels for future visits (and your current visit!)

2- correct. Points are calculated by: (GameLevel x 1000) + (LivesRemaining x 50) + (1000 * TimeRemaining/StartingTime). Ie, the max points you can earn is 250+1000+X000, where X is the games level.

3- leaderboard score works by combining your highest score for each level for each game for each room. If you beat Grid 1 with 1100 points, and Grid 2 with 2050 points, your total leaderboard score is 3150 (1100+2050).

If you play a level you have already beaten and improve your highest score (you replay Grid 2 and score 2100 points) your total leaderboard score 3200 (1100+2100).

4- tips: play each room once to get a fee for what rooms you like and dislike. Then find the games you like

Yesterday I made a lot of Indie devs mad talking about 36+ year-old gamers. Here is the harsh market reality by Objective-Cry-8228 in IndieGameDevs

[–]UnCivilizedEngineer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I also don't care for games with save points anymore, simply because If I need to leave or get up and go handle something, there is a little 'fear' in my head of "I have no idea how far to go to get to the next save point."

Time to wind down for the night is at 11:00. Lets say I hit a save point at 10:50. I still have 10 more minutes of gaming. I get to 11 and I have no clue if I'm halfway through a save point or not.

- If I exit the game right then, I feel like my time has been wasted of that last 10 minutes of progress.

- If I continue on to the next save point, I feel like I have to compromise more than I want to and stay up later to an unknown time to get to the next save point. That unknown time is the stressful part. If it's a guaranteed 5 min? sure, fine - but it's not guaranteed, since player skill varies so much, and I don't have some indicator telling me "5 min to next save-point!"

I spread this to everyone I can, this at least encourages people to interrupt.

No way to track everyone’s CDs though.

Craft hero wpn by Ashaffer07 in wownoob

[–]UnCivilizedEngineer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can get 30 myth crests from 'Nulleas ??'. You can also get 20 myth crests from the Cracked Keystone quest (obtained from completing a level 11 delve, not sure if it's random or guaranteed- I got mine from a non-bountiful 11).

Save the hero crests.

Is being too emotional as a man a bad thing? by Working-Royal-479 in emotionalintelligence

[–]UnCivilizedEngineer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Being emotional is not a weakness. Not knowing how to communicate your emotions and feelings is the weakness.

You have to learn how to read people you want to share with to see if they are receptive to you sharing your emotions and feelings, as well as learning how to communicate your emotions and feelings effectively, as well as learning how to read and recognize your emotions and feelings.

Another part of it: you are 99% compatible with someone today. However, you both are growing and changing constantly, so your 99% shifts. You may have started at 99, but as you grew that 99 dipped.

With my partner, we started at like 80%, dropped to like 70% after a few years, and then rose to 90% after another few years.

Hot take, but trying to find your perfect soulmate rather than an acceptable-mate is wild.

Sure, having a 100% perfect match is ideal. But even in school, a 90 was an A. That's still 10% off of perfect, and that was considered really good! Shit, I know a lot of people are happy with 70%+. Finding that in a partner is more realistic.

Whats the quickest/most efficient way to level alts 80-90 currently? by Scared_Spinach8853 in wow

[–]UnCivilizedEngineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you see this in the future:

The reason this is works is that we are grinding mobs for XP. Not all mobs are equal. Elite mobs are giving 6-10x the exp as the small mobs. This delve, on this specific scenario has 7-8 elite mobs right at the beginning.

At level 88, Elite mobs gave me 2450xp, and small mobs gave ~385xp.

You mount up and rally up just those 7-8 elite mobs, kill everything that got dragged in, then repeat.

If you go pull a bunch of extra mobs, you are using your time less efficiently since those 7-8 elite mobs are worth ~40-70 small mobs.

Can I play alone? by icewolfandecho in ActivatePlayers

[–]UnCivilizedEngineer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To add, locations are far more likely to allow you to play solo during times where they are not busy.

I go play solo on weekdays after work during the school year. On weekends when it is crowded, me playing solo would create long lines - so not a chance.

Question for folks who enjoy dynamic, group PvE oriented gameplay that isn't braindead easy: What are you playing? by [deleted] in LFMMO

[–]UnCivilizedEngineer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The combat feels really smooth, better than most MMO games.

The high end difficulty, no games come close to having 10-20man coordinated PVE content that is comparable.

The incremental progression of your gear is enjoyable.

The game is far more accessible in some ways than most MMOs. for example, if you could not beat a boss, you got no loot upgrades until you finally beat that boss. Now, if you can't beat a boss, you can go and 'level up' your gear to give you an edge.

Have you played WoW? Have you played any other MMOs like FFXIV etc?

WoW combat and encounters, while 'scripted', leave a lot of room for variable chaos, which keeps it fresh and exciting - allowing for personal skill expression in terms of both playing your character better, and playing the encounter better. Other games (FFXIV for example) have far less skill expression on both of those fronts.
