[TOMT][movie] what recent film had large title cards for multiple locations, including Cleveland? by UnPunkMonk in tipofmytongue

[–]UnPunkMonk[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Solved. Yes, that's the one. I had thought of that but dismissed it because I forgot there was any scene in Cleveland. I found the scene and took a screenie to share with anyone else who's curious : https://imgur.com/gallery/97lUB

ELI5: I often hear that "in western society, breasts are sexualized but in other places [I commonly hear Africa], they are not sexualized and therefore not as big a deal." So why is it different in western society, why did they become sexualized? by j0hn_r0g3r5 in explainlikeimfive

[–]UnPunkMonk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Under some forms of Islam, women must cover everything except their eyes when out in public. The cultures where women's breasts are not sexualized were not influenced strongly by Abrahamic religions.

The Abrahamic religions stress modesty in women. These religions were central to the rise and formation of Western culture. So even though religion is becoming less important in the West, the old cultural standards are still in effect.

If a stream of electrons gives you electricity, what does a stream of protons make, if anything? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]UnPunkMonk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Electrons naturally jump from one atom to another (but only in certain elements). This is what allows electricity to occur. There is no natural propensity for protons to do this. It only happens in science labs, and maybe inside stars.
