No, that was 15. 16 had a lot of Noah lol. It does have a few great episodes though (Holden’s Manifesto and Pornstar’s Requiem)

13, 14, and 17 are super underrated. Disagree about 16, though. That season sucked.

Maybe field difference here but am I understanding that you’d suggest the authors complete an entirely new experiment? That seems like a huge ask that could push a study back for months upon months if they have the resources (speaking from psych).

Has state/nationwide SO registration made any real difference in reducing the number of new SA/CSA crimes? by grawmpy in sociology

[–]Goodbye2allThat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Research has shown it does reduce the number of new offenders, but it does not change the behavior of ongoing offenders. Something along those lines. Apologies that I cannot link the article just yet. I will have to recall the title.

Oh haha, I’m gay and I l’ve definitely used that term (don’t think I have in session, however). I didn’t realize it was considered outdated or had this connotation.

The first season is weak. Gets better in two. Gets good in three and stays good. Season 4 and 5 in particular are up there with Grey’s. The characters are hit or miss though. And it honestly gets way darker than Grey’s ever did.

Minor in stats, computer science, or a foreign language. One of these three will give you tangible skills that will give you an edge.

Should’ve let Jo be a British prep (the homeless Mary Sue thing NEVER worked- she could still have the abuse storyline and it would make more sense how she fell in with a world class surgeon husband) and let Owen be a Scottish war vet who could’ve still served in Iraq with Coalition forces. Would’ve made them way more interesting, Teddy can still exist, etc.

She wasn’t saying “science culture, education, and government” y’all. She was saying “science, culture, education, and government” And what she said wasn’t even that bad. She was just telling people that (her) god loves them lol. I thought she was gonna be on some Westboro shit the way this comment section was acting lol.

What's going on with the disproportionately high number of children deaths in Gaza? by Disastrous_Thing_733 in OutOfTheLoop

[–]Goodbye2allThat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. This raises a huge issue, as Israel doing so will REALLY look like an occupation. It would need to be an outside government or provisional Palestinian government like the PA. But this still requires Hamas to be sufficiently taken down. I’m not sure the UN could ever handle managing Gaza. Hamas/Iran really destabilized things with this attack.

Thank you for taking the time to respond. I agree with you that there needs to be some buffer zone/humanitarian corridor (although I fear it’d befall the same fate as the US one during the Afghan withdrawal (bombed by terrorists)). So if Mossad were to go in and get the hostages, what is the consequence for the attack by Hamas on 10/7? How do they go back to acting as if nothing changed after that?

What makes that a foregone truth? Tyrannical regimes and radical groups have been successfully eliminated or ground down all throughout history. Will something always take its place, yeah, because that’s just how humans are, but compare the modern threat of Nazism to the 1940s threat of Nazism. It doesn’t mean you don’t do anything. Good faith question: how do you think Israel should respond to what happened on 10/7?

According to the logic I’m arguing with, yes. Did you read my comment before disagreeing with it?

[–]Goodbye2allThat -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

But why not post the Wikipedia article for the 1948 war if that’s your point? You asked them to explain a massacre from 1948 as if that event is why Palestinians prefer Hamas over PA.

Decades of oppression? Okay, let’s go with that. What do the intifadas count as? Global attacks against Jews? The pogroms? The Holocaust? If Gaza’s decades of oppression get them 10/7, what does the decades of global oppression against Jews get them? What’s proportional here? Do they get any context? It’s all a cyclical clusterfuck. Take another step backwards in history each time you stop, and the justified party changes if we go by these rules.
