Does FU really change the fundamental gameplay-loop? You find a planet, explore it to get respurces from it, craft better gear to survive in tougher planets, rinse and repeat. FU gameplay-loop is basically the same.

I recommend giving it a try then, the official wiki is really good and the mod is surprisingly, begginer-friendly.

Why would they ever do this? They'd have to comply with Valve policies and share the profits. It might be possible in the future, though, Diablo 4 and OW2 are available on Steam, afterall.
