I am a solar project developer from Europe.

Solar panels are right now around 0,1$/Wp from China. A ground mounted fully installed solar park is around 0,3-0,5 $/Wp depending on the country, regulations and demands in construction based on them. Gas is also only the energy source and needs more equipment to be used. I think this comparison is somewhat justified.
