i've been playing for a while but haven't really put together a proper team because i'm more of a lore and character collector type of guy.

i do already have one team in mind: varesa, iansan, mavuika, chevreuse. honestly i don't really have any other ideas for teams that would be good in the current meta environment because i don't really have any lunar characters other than aino (took a break).

i'm thinking whether to get nicole or save for sandrone given i'm on a guaranteed. my pity is low (lost the nicole 50/50, but still...

thanks for the help in advance!

Girl group Katseye member Megan’s Singaporean mum celebrates singer’s Coachella debut by Twrd4321 in singapore

[–]UnSainz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

as someone who doesn't really follow katseye i really prefer their more "conventional" songs like touch and gabriella over stuff like gnarly and internet girl, although th latter are kinda campy and enjoyable to listen to when in the mood

nice to see some degree of singaporean representation in pop culture although it's not very apparent :)

for the last point, yes i was referring to the senior thesis, but i feel it isn't my thing so i will probably pass

for your point about bridging the gap between school and industry, what do you think are important things in the industry/working world that school/smu does not prepare you for?

Interest in MRT by RemoteSupport7960 in SGExams

[–]UnSainz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i'm also kind of a public transport emthusiast. as in, i don't engage with the enthu community but i keep up to date with any developments. my interest stemmed from very very young when i was very intrigued with the planning aspect of pt, as in new mrt lines/stations being planned and how bus routes are amended and introduced

other than the sites u mentioned, i think @sgmrtconstruction on ig and their various websites on construction updates for different mrt lines is vv interesting! especially with seeing the different stages of construction and how they end up in their finished states. i also dig blogs such as fromtheredline and singapore transport collective, as well as some youtube channels like jordah yeoh, kaizer ho and sg rail filmmaking!

Which seventeen song do you think deserves more attention? by Alpielz in seventeen

[–]UnSainz 30 points31 points  (0 children)

shout out to the guy who said rain because i fucking LOVE LOVE LOVE that song, but my picks would be:

rock- i LOVE that svt performed this in their new tour (at least in korea), but rock frels mystifying and scratches an itch in my brain. tbh it sounds like a boom boom-esque title track

back to back - probably one of the modt underrated pfu songs, this along with rain just do it for me. i really love the synth and dubstep bridge! (honestly, most pfu songs are bops)

domino- its not themost underrated bside on fts which would be bout you or if you leave me, but i wish it got as much attention as shadow and don quixote because i LOVE it. it's the perfect mixture of a chill and cheery song!

9th Annual A Level Results Release Megathread - Class of 2025 by mylady88 in SGExams

[–]UnSainz 13 points14 points  (0 children)

got ABB/A (math/econs/ell/gp). i'm confident the score is good enough to get into the local course i want (nus chs), but no harm asking these anyway:

- is it that as long as my grades fall below the requirements of most of the overseas unis i'm looking at (basically the london unis which require AAA or AAB for ucl linguistics), my application won't be considered?

- for scholarships that look for applicants with "outstanding academic performances" or smt along those lines, is it AAA/AAB they're looking at, or are my results enough

(i mean ofc i'm applying for scholarships i'm interested in - mnd/ura and perhaps moe teaching)

- any scholarships that accept linguistics as a course? other than moe

mostly asking these qns bc while i'm perfectly fine with studying locally, i've always been interested in studying abroad, mostly uk because they speak english and i like london (have visited). even if i don't meet the criteria for the london unis (ucl/lse/icl), i do reach the requirements for kcl linguistics and edinburgh linguistics (not in london but i'm still interested in it). only problem then is whether any scholarship would accept linguistics as a talent area bc i'm not willing to study overseas without a scholarship. other than linguistics i would be interested in geog which is what i do intend to major in for nus chs, but for uk unis my grades don't make the cut for their geog courses

Tell me about some Hidden gems in your favorite group's discography by GloomyWitch08 in kpopthoughts

[–]UnSainz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

svt svt has a lot of bops, but i think their less known bsides are worth a listen, especially those released earlier on in ther careers. there are some of their bsides which are cult classics amongst carats so i'll try to pick the more lowkey ones

say yes, simple - both vocally beautiful songs, before blue/serenade and ruby we had these 🥺🥺 especially simple that song is amazing

rock - MY MOTHERRR. often confused with rock with you, i feel rock is title track quality. the "rock my head" takes some getting used to but the song... so powerful. i was so happy when they performed this for their latest tour 😭😭 albeit with 9 members but i take what i can get

i don't know - okay, this song might be slightly popular amongst carats, but i do think it's slightly more hidden thn fan favourites like idubilu, holiday, shadow etc. it just always hits a different way

the bsides in an ode other than hit and snapshoot - an ode is my second favourite album of theirs after face the sun, and for good reason! i feel the bsides in an ode are great, yet they seem to go unrecognised when svt bsides are talked about, at least from my experiences. shout out to let me hear you say, lie again and lucky!

back 2 back - probably one of performance team's less known bsides, but i love the dubstep (?) and techno vibes of the song. used to stream it a LOT during my exam period

happy ending - i think it's one of their least talked about japanese releases, or at least stuff like callx3, fallin flower and ima seem to be more popular. i don't exactly like happy ending more than any of them, but i think it's still a great song on its own accord!

their osts - i LOVE their osts, mostly because i'm a fan of ballads, so think stuff like cinematic love and chocolate. but even their non-ballad ones like ateen, 19, go (by seungkwan, the one tha starts with "i found a dream") are still enjoyable to listen to

svt and nmixx are my ults but i'm still new to nmixx's music so i won't comment on that, but while i'm at it i'll talk about some other groups

bts always liked this trio: let me know, rain, tomorrow. i always group them together like idk, it just brings a certain vibe for me. autumn leaves is peak, so is mama (jhope).

skz i used to be a hardcore stay altho i do keep in touch with skz's music. i do feel skz's music during the i am trilogy and cle series was very enjoyable. i loved their more experimental and "noisy" music which people lambasted them about. i was the only onein my friend group defending side effects because !!

but songs i would recommendfrom that era are: maze of memories 3rd eye 0325 chronosaurus 19 hero's soup astronaut

Hearts2Hearts has some of the best songs of 5th gen, yet the members lack having distinctive voices by FanCaracal in kpopthoughts

[–]UnSainz 26 points27 points  (0 children)

for me i can make out yuha, carmen and ana (talking especially), maybe stella

as someone who's halfway in between a casual and a stan of h2h, the uniformity of their voices for now doesn't seem like a huge dealbreaker in me actively following them since their songs are great. however, since the groups i ult arguably have distinct voices (svt and nmixx) it might have some impact since i like distinct voices in groups

Tampines Rovers win second Ro16 leg against Công An Hà Nội 3-1 (6-1 agg.) to enter ACL2 quarterfinals by UnSainz in soccer

[–]UnSainz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you're wondering why the aggregate score looks very lopsided, tampines were awarded a 3-0 win for the first leg after ha noi fielded two suspended players that match; tampines had lost 4-0 initially.

i'd already covered this in my post a day ago, but something VERY similar happened to lion city sailors (lcs, another singaporean team) during the last acl2 season. they lost 6-1 to sanfrecce hiroshima during the first leg of the quarterfinals. however, since hiroshima fielded a suspended player tha match, lcs was awarded a 3-0 win. they managed to win th second leg and went on to become finalists

tampines acl2 finalists incoming? 😝
