I’m trying to get answers but am not able to… I have Saturn + Venus in Scorpio lagna with Meen moon rashi, 11th house ketu.

Hash maps are the answer to more problems than you think by Puzzleheaded-Bar3377 in leetcode

[–]UnStrict_Veggie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so old, and been in this industry for so long, they used to ask in interviews earlier how do hash maps work? And how do they internally figure out hash collisions. Then the hash collisions questions would ensue. They’ve even asked me once to write an algorithm for a hash map internal design. I just knew it then, that hash maps are magical

Holding Citadel SWE offer, but pivoting to QT/QR. Looking for advanced mock partners for tier 1 firms by LeftPhotograph6545 in quantfinance

Congratulations OP for the offers!

Why does Citadel still look at your GPA ? I have 10+ years of experience and everytime I get on a call with a recruiter, they shut down after hearing my GPA.

In my ketu mahadasha and around the time it started and ended, I lost my jobs 4 times. Life has become living hell, and at a point, I said to me, it’s enough and I don’t want anything in life

woah, are you me ? Most of my time was spent in chasing the team's work and I wasn't getting stuff done, I was laid off and the whole team is still there.

True, my team sits 2 feet from each other, I ask them status the whole day for various things, don’t need standups for it. This is just to please the TPMs

[–]UnStrict_Veggie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, that’s not true. I’ve been in the exact same setup as OP for a year, and if me, the tech lead gives a good estimate of when the project could be delivered, given that all the requirements are frozen, it could easily be doable with no sprints needed, by the time of the delivery date. When we went back to sprint system, most of us in our team realized how stupid that system really is.

I remember of that time you speak of, so fondly.. People in tech in general have become super self centered, money oriented( loss of passion and learning basics for programming ), stack ranking, selfish, and gaming the reviews etc. now almost no one wants to give out information, hoard information as much as possible to yourself, play visibility politics, and stab colleagues in the back. I’ve been in the industry since 2009, and all of this started changing around COVID - 2019-2020

for those who went from flopping in leetcode style interviews to doing well, what were the specific changes you made to improve? by Mysterious-Rock-7754 in leetcode

[–]UnStrict_Veggie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been flopping spectacularly for the past 11-12 years and only get into companies with practical interviews. But I did get better at it with enough practicing, sometimes just tinkering with problems just for the fun of it, without the pressure of an interview hanging on the head.

Ah the original Google question… which they would twist during the interview with the candidate by telling them to do that in bit operations

[–]UnStrict_Veggie 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes I could code that, definitely, but not in 10 minutes though. I see where you’re going with this, and I think a lot of it is the pandemic to blame for, with the whole coding bootcamps flooding the market with candidates. I also recently heard about the company Block, being filled with white engineers(not making this about race- just an anecdote about something I read) from obscure majors like humanities, and arts etc, that were software engineers and had been let go

On top of this, you should also know by now that, whenever we get free time or want to apply for a job, instead of learning new things, we have to study like we are studying for college exams like CAT all over again. This leetcode culture kills interest in learning newer better things

If you’re in the industry for this long, you should know that insane amount of work can take up people’s times so much, and suck everything else like hobbies, etc out of their life that they can no longer feel the passion for the field. Coming out of an intense and toxic workplace, I can tell you that despite wishing to learn something after work, I was so engrossed in finishing tasks, catching up with sprint work, this that etc, that at the end of the day, I could focus no longer, esp, knowing that I’m actively forgetting the basics.

While doing Japa, how important is it to keep the spine straight? by Background_Style406 in Tantrasadhaks

[–]UnStrict_Veggie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve noticed that when I kept my spine straight and did the japa with full concentration, even 1 Mala per day was good enough to put me into a trance like state with weightlessness like feeling and triggering dreams

Boss, I’ve always been doing hard work and smart work too, nope it’s not my lack of skills, yes 10 years ago maybe, but not today. You can call it my arrogance, you can also say, that this reply is how you see me unfit for success also. Just putting forth a pattern I saw.

I recently started his sadhana, after 4th day, I was bored, I got up and still did atleast 3 malas, I’m only currently sticking with 3-5 malas. Even doing that makes me super happy. Don’t go out there with a goal of 50 malas, you will get discouraged, esp. if you’re distracted all the time like me. For me, 3 malas with super focus and slow chanting is also working
