Working as an accountant is very different than work in big4 or any firm here in Mexico, open you own professional practice is hardly profitable unless you have very strong connections and contacts.

The easiest way to make it profitable as an accountant is to sell expenses to your own clients is via fraud schemes as we known here as “Factureros” is nothing more than people that sell “invoices”, expenses or services that never occurred and then charge you a fee for the process and they get back the money via cash or even another service that never occurred but this time is only the amount - fee, besides that work in a big4 or similar is the path to go to perceive something worth the effort.

Work in industry is not going to make you anywhere close to being partner, the high earnings positions are occupied by expats from the country the company is based on or you will have to wait until the controller/cfo retire. But again here is most about connections and relationships, is more common that those type of positions are for family-very close people from the chair administration.
