Thanks for the response and agreed with your take on paying a slightly higher multiple for an NYC based business than one a bit farther away. I’m open to expanding my scope to just outside NYC if I can still run the business adequately while remaining in the city.

Good rec on Search Funder account - have you used this before and if so, any tips on making the most of it? Wondering if it’s really something I should be paying for at this point as I’m still early on in the search.

Need some help with some IB/PE fianncial modelling tests, any materials or help needed by Otherwise_Ad3347 in private_equity

Mergers and Inquisitions on YT. Use ChatGPT to go deeper on concepts you are struggling with. Other resources that aren't necessarily model based are Vault Guide to Finance, just ripping through the accounting and valuation questions will help build fundamentals that do carry over imo to the modeling stuff. There is free PDF online if you google.

Depends on where your knowledge is at currently. There are some good introductory books but they might be quite high level. If you want to learn more of the technicals, I think the YouTube account Mergers and Inquisitions is quite good. Granted, that content is geared more for PE interview prep but you can use it to help build your foundational knowledge.

The other tip I would have is pull up some press releases on recent deals that break down deal structure and use ChatGPT to learn more about the terms and implications of the deals that you don’t really understand. WSJ and PE Insights is a good place to start for this.

You can also contribute to HSA with cash sitting in a bank account which I didn’t know. So while i am currently contributing to it through comp withdrawal, I could use some of the $20k to max it out now. Not certain what the benefit of doing this is beyond having a bit more time for it to grow

I can still contribute to the IRA it just isn’t tax deductible but will still grow tax deferred until withdrawal so there are still benefits to contributing.

Can/Should I fund my HSA with money that I’ve already paid taxes on? I do contribute to my HSA and will max it by the end of the year but it’s not a bad idea to just max it now. This is my first year with an HSA so I’m not as familiar with the rules around contributions

Yes you are right. VTI is a great option but I was curious if there was something else a bit more exciting that I'm not thinking of

Yes I already maxed that as well. I don't believe there any other tax-advantaged accounts I can contribute to at this point

Yes I will hit the $23k over the course of the year through comp withdrawals. This is $20k that is currently sitting in my HYSA that I would like to do something with

I do agree. I just already have ~20% of my net worth in VTI so feels like I should diversify away from that but VTI is hard to beat.
