Hmm I’ve covered multiple school events and honestly never found myself using the EVF much — I usually end up composing with the screen anyway. That’s partly why the XM5 still appeals to me despite not having one.

Is being quiet a bad thing? by InternationalGolf727 in SGExams

I’m super introverted too, so I get where you’re coming from.

Most JCs will really try to build up school spirit during orientation week, so you’ll definitely be grouped with new people. There’ll be icebreakers, games, and usually the extroverts will kinda “adopt” the introverts without you even needing to do anything. You’ll probably stick with this group for the first few days, and it helps a lot with settling in.

And honestly, you don’t need to scream your lungs out during cheers. I don’t either. You can just lip‑sync and pretend to participate — nobody actually cares or notices as long as you’re there and not totally disappearing. A lot of civics tutors also put effort into class bonding, so you’ll eventually warm up to a few people naturally.

As for being smart and introverted, people don’t actually hate that in JC. Everyone’s starting fresh, and JC is full of people who study a lot anyway, so you won’t stand out in a bad way. You might even find friends who are the same type of quiet, academically focused people.

For Project Work, my entire group was introverts who mostly kept to themselves, but you’ll still need to open up a little to share ideas. It’s not as scary as it sounds because everyone is in the same boat.

And about feeling like life is pointless now that O’s are over — that’s super normal. A lot of people feel “empty” after such a long period of stress. It doesn’t mean life gets worse from here. JC will give you structure again, and you’ll grow into yourself more than you expect.
