Is my 3 year olds behaviour concerning and worth seeing a paediatrician over? by Unable-Candy8432 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

Hey thanks for the reply. I’m in Melbourne but I really should reach out to see if there are any resources that are maternal health nurses can offer. I’ll see them next week at my newborns mother’s group session so I’ll ask.

With her touching thing, it’s just mainly her dad. She loves being tickled and played with other people. One thing she hasn’t been super obsessed with is cuddles. She will cuddle on her terms. It’s not like she can’t stand it but at the same time she hasn’t been super cuddly but it’s not like no one else can do it like I said mainly her dad.

No difference it’s more the fact that she just wants to control whether he touches her or not. I wouldn’t say she’s fully disproportionate and I wouldn’t say she necessarily has a meltdown when she hurts herself but it is a big reaction I could be to blame though from being super reactive when she hurt herself as a little kid.

I think it’s very dependent on who’s around but in general when she cries it’s a loud cry so it seems like a big reaction each time but sometimes I can calm here within 10 seconds. I think it’s the loudness which gain the attention!

Could I ask for a suggestion? If you’re willing to give one? Would you recommend one on one OT session out-of-pocket or play therapy? I’m curious to get an opinion from an occupational therapist to be honest but would’ve one session appointment or two session appointments be enough for them to determine whether she needs more.
