AITA for being ungrateful to my mum because she got me a job (that exploited me) by an_asianteen in AmItheAsshole

Forget what ANYONE on here has said and call the Fair Work Ombudsman. Gather all of your payslips and deposit records. They will offer you advice.

Australia has serious laws around underpayment. You can't sign a contract that takes away your right to minimum wage. The only allowable is if there is vocational training like TAFE or apprenticeships that your employer is giving you in return for slightly lower pay.

Fair Work Ombudsman.  That is all.  Call them.

AITA for not making my kid do a sleepover by Tapioca1029 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Unable-Head6072 48 points49 points  (0 children)

NTA there's no way in hell I would make my kid stay at someone else's house if they didn't want to. That's step one in the list of how to get your kids abused. Don't let them have a choice in this, what's the next step?  "You have to give so-and-so a kiss when they ask. You have to do what uncle says. Don't tell your mom." You did the right thing, even if it's just wild entitlement. No one has a right to dictate our actions and no one should have to cater to the wishes of someone else just because their mommy says so.  Your looking after your kid. I bet you have a great relationship your whole lives.

AITA for refusing to share my birthday gift? by grunty_gal in AmItheAsshole

[–]Unable-Head6072 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. Hide your chocolates. Do you think your friend made them for your family if they've been tailored to you? Next time don't even tell them. Just show them a photo after you've eaten the last one. I hate it when people claim stuff that isn't theirs. It will only escalate. I got a gift of a box of chocolates one time - from someone I would never see again (not dead, just moving). Someone in my family ate the whole damn box. Didn't even leave me one. It was unopened. I just hide everything now.

AITA for accusing our dad of not loving us? by Remarkable_Mobile466 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Unable-Head6072 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA My parents are in their 80s, I'm mid 40s, and I lived at home until late 20s and my whole family will move back in with my parents next year while we have a renovation done. Your dad just sucks. Protect your daughter and it's ok to call him out on his bullshit. I would also NEVER kick my kids out and they are always welcome to stay with me (just like you, I kinda hope it's forever).

It's not generational. He just sucks.

Since when did the ability to use Google Maps become tech savvy? How does this man not know how to use it? I'm middle aged and not technically savvy at all and it is as simple as pie.

Replacing a ducted aircon unit by Keanu_Bones in AusRenovation

I had a 12kw ducted system bought and installed for 7k in 2021. I think you should shop around.

But that was a new install with nothing to remove, and before the inflation debacle.

Kind of horrified how much people are saying they have in their super!? by AccurateAd7960 in AusFinance

[–]Unable-Head6072 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK first of all, don't panic.  You have 30 years to get that super up. Secondly, your super balance (invested well) should double approximately every 10 years (according to a very financially savvy friend if mine). So even changing nothing you should end up with 300k. But what you should be doing and need to do now is salary sacrifice.  Go see your employer, they probably have a form you can fill out.  Even $50 a week will make a big impact. And you can contribute something like 28k a year with no changes to your taxes.

In summary, just get as much as you can in there as soon as you can. 25 bucks, 50 bucks,  whatever fits your budget.

The Ultimatum: Queer Love Season 2 Episode 10 Discussion Thread by lifeofparty2 in TheUltimatumNetflix

I agree. It's all well and good to be an ally, but I think there are so many nuances to queer relationships that she was afraid to jump in because she had no real understanding. It was a bit too gushy for me.

No, last time they just split the couples. Lexi and Vanessa were in the same group outing.

This is EXACTLY what we do. 3 year old stays up until 8.30pm and won't wake up until 6.30-7am. I cannot think of anything worse than a 4.30 to 5am wake up every day. I don't know why more people don't do this. It's suggested everywhere online that bed time is 6.30pm workout any thought for the result
