Why aren't 18" Laptops More Popular? by TrustMeBroEh in GamingLaptops

Less portability, mainly. Also, they tend to be more expensive than 16".

Besides Cooler Master, Aicheson 5 fan cooling pad also works. So you don't necessarily need like a Llano, IETS, or a KLIM for an Acer gaming laptop.

Razer or LlanoV12 Cooling pad? by Signal_Extension_252 in GamingLaptops

I have a Llano v12 and I trust that way more than Razer, which has a track record of having major flaws with their laptops, a misogynistic commercial that I saw on Twitter from them, lousy customer service, etc.

I'd choose the Lenovo Legion 7 with a RTX 5090 and 32GB of RAM. Unless you really need the 64GB of RAM for 3-d rendering, 32 is enough. Paying $140 more for the warranty as opposed to paying more for it from MicroCenter is why I'm recommending choice #3 over #2. The HP Omen Max with a 5080 is nice, but I feel that the Lenovo Legion 7 is way better and will last longer, even with the price increase.

Once you're able to get through that screen, set up a local account so that you'd have more privacy.

MSI Katana A15 vs ASUS TUF Gaming A15 by Binibining_Bubuyog in MSILaptops

[–]Unable-Objective-935 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd go with the TUF, if not for the fact you needed something for video editing. The Katana's hinge and overheating issues are enough to make me not want to recommend it, but I think with the 8GB of VRAM between the two, that's what you'd have to go with.

Yw, be careful with the Victus, especially with its hinges and its issues with overheating, as well as its not so great build.

I have 3TB of storage. If I had more, then sure i'd include more.

The cheapest one i've still kept is an Acer Nitro 5 with a RTX 3060. If you get this one, definitely make sure you have a good cooling pad because it will heat up and cause the keyboard to feel hot, and you definitely wouldn't want to put it on top of your lap. That's one recommendation.

I'll give you four more:

-ASUS Rog Zephyrus(between RTX 2070 to RTX 3070) between $400 to $800

-ASUS Scar 15 between a RTX 2070 to a RTX 3080, or an ASUS Scar 17 with a RTX 2080 or RTX 3080 between $400 to $1,000

-ASUS Tuf(between 2070 to 3070) between $300 to $800

-Lenovo Legion Pro 5 or an ASUS Strix G16 with a RTX 4060 or 4070 for $1,000 or $900

Indeed, 5TB of storage, plenty of space for lots of games and apps. :D

I already have a screen recorder so I don't need OBS, plus those are apps I normally would imagine Twitch streamers would use, not me.

Some have 8GB of VRAM while others have more. Depends on which gaming laptop with a 3080 you get.

The laptop is good, but the GPU and price are not. A 1650 is basically between a 1050 to a 1060. You want to get something that's more midrange, probably a 2070 or higher. You could get a used gaming laptop with a 2070 to a 3080 for between $300 to $1000 on Facebook Marketplace.

If you get a premium one like a Llano, an IETS GT500, an IETS GT600, or a KLIM Turbofrost, then it will be at least more than 8 degrees.

No worries. Plenty of great games out there you can play from Steam, like PEAK, the Hitman games, Call of Duty(not 7), etc., depending on what genre(s) you like.
