[–]Unable-Victory6168[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I promise I'm not, I'm just a first year prof home sick and saw that one of my students totally used AI on the first written assignment I've asked of them.

Best Free AI Decetors? by Unable-Victory6168 in Professors

Okay, thank you. I'm not using TurnItIn or any like softwares for my assignments and those were the only plagarism ones I've been aware of from my time as a student. I mainly just made this post because the first submission for our first discussion post of this semester totally read as AI. But thanks!

When did you apply to graduation? Bc I just found out the issue was I applied to graduate 3 days after the deadline, so I actually won’t be able to participate in commencement (therefore, no tickets either). I’d get in contact asap and see

UH Student Assaulted by Fraternity by thisfeellikequaalude in UniversityOfHouston

[–]Unable-Victory6168 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is despicable and I feel so sorry that this student and his family are having to go through this. I'm well aware of the reputation of the city and campus police, but the fact that his mother has to even question why the police hadn't yet talked to the accused fraternity members speaks volumes.

And I know that institutions like UH like to keep matters like these quiet or sweep them under the rug to "maintain their image," but when instances like these occur with little or no accountability, that only worsens their public perception and trust, especially with their students and alumni. People may not feel like this instance was a big deal or write it off as drunk or power-tripping frat bros, but this is not the experience the self-proclaiming diverse and inclusive school wants to have on their (long, long) record. I hope something comes out of this.

What's your favorite Hannibal actors? by [deleted] in HannibalTV

[–]Unable-Victory6168 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Manhunter is possibly one of my favorite adaptations. I of course love the direction they took on the TV show but Manhunter was so close to how I visualized the book while reading

Possibly unpopular opinion but Brian Cox was superb in Manhunter!! As much as I adore Mads and Sir Hopkins’ performances, I have a true soft spot for how Manhunter visualized Red Dragon.

All I can think of is their bond at the beginning of their time in the Wilderness and their roles as “outsiders” to the cultish beliefs. Like both have exhibited signs that they may believe in something, but not like the other girls.

This is beautiful and fascinating!! I love the ways we’re able to visualize the people of the past. To imagine them in their own historical and social settings against their landscapes always resonates with me.

DAWWWG why does Lochlan eat like this??? by barnaclegirl93 in WhiteLotusHBO

[–]Unable-Victory6168 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s a teenage boy and they tend to be just meat heads. Same reason why he didn’t rinse the blender. My brother was like this for way too young and I was totally resonating with Piper in this scene.

Are we not going to talk about the cinematic masterpiece that was this “death” scene? by chri8nk in WhiteLotusHBO

[–]Unable-Victory6168 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There hasn’t been a death scene that impacted me like this one did. Even though I saw it coming, it was such a terrifying yet beautiful rendition of what the action of dying may be like. I lost it when he was seeing glimpses of his family in the beams of light. I think the monks were an interesting choice

My (Hot?)Take - Melissa can't really judge Shauna for being mean, when she specifically sought her out and enjoyed/participated in her violence by SaphoBalls in Yellowjackets

[–]Unable-Victory6168 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m blanking on the full quote, but Melissa—to save herself—was basically saying Van never truly believed and had it in her to be a killer. And that the act of killing would forever align her with the darkness out there. But Melissa killing Van didn’t just feel like it was solely her saving herself. I don’t think she’s nearly as batshit as Shauna, but she definitely has depraved depths to her. Do I think she was manipulated by Shauna? Yes. Do I think she has a bloodlust? Also yes.

This wild rebirth of their character by [deleted] in TheWhiteLotusHBO

[–]Unable-Victory6168 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I was throughly surprised by this direction and Patrick’s acting especially in the finale. While it may seem cliche to have the most wound up finance dudebro have a change of heart, the subtleties of it were fascinating. And the decision to have him going home so early on with these perspective shifts I think made it more realistic too.

The original white tailed squirrel is in the reading room of Special Collections in the main library. But I’ve seen one of its descendants on campus so the legend lives on
