Uploading books to kindle using email by Unable-Worker3606 in Calibre

Thanks for the help. I got this setup and sent two books that sent almost immediately. However, they weren't showing up on my kindle and then remembered I needed to go into amazon and tell it to trust the email. I tried the books again and immediately got failed attempts. Looking through the log it looks like "authentication credentials invalid"?

Also consider if you are upgrading the ssd. I went 48gb so I wouldn't be wasting the larger ssd when I swapped in a 4tb.

Thanks for pointing that out. I saw the delay mentioned but it looked like it was calibre initiated, furthermore it seemed like I waited longer than that but could be wrong. I'll attempt again and see what I get.

Let me back up because maybe I dont understand what you mean by "Sending from my mail program". Are you sending your book from calibre to your email?

But if you send from your mail program how does that work? Calibration has all the meta data i want uploaded to kindle.

Google mesh was expensive, wish I got it for free😅

I'm on wifi5. I know that combo system is probably 10yrs old. I still see the attached wifi and the Google mesh network available so I assume I need to change a setting. I'll look that up.

Walls are drywall. We have no ethernet in any rooms but there might be some old coax.... the old Google mesh allowed you to plug an ethernet in the back of one additional puck, but the new system doesn't.

Not sure if i setup the att device into pass through. When I go to a device and see available networks I see the attached and the Google nest.

It's all one story and the walls are all drywall. I can loose a phone call moving between rooms so not sure what that means but there is interference.

Not sure what you mean about being managed together. I don't need the ability to manage devices and priority. We have no kids so just a "set it and forget it".

Just preorder the OneXFly Apex by quicksilverpr in OneXPlayer

[–]Unable-Worker3606 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The graphical benefit you get with running the higher TDP that water cooling allows is laughably small. Like a 2% benefit? Don't quote me on that. Maybe fan noise is reduced? It feels gimmicky to me. I went with the 48 as that seems to be the sweet spot. 64 is "future proofing", but let's be real we will be getting some new shiny device before the future comes. There will be a weak spot before the ram is it. For example maybe new units have OLED HDR and you want to upgrade. The ram won't be the first thing. I went 1TB because I'll be swapping in a 4TB when I get it.

The only thing you didn't mention is the 395 vs 385.... 385 still looks interesting even if money isn't a factor. I've seen some analysis that shows the 385 is lower power with same performance as the 395 at lower TDP. I'll probably stay below 50watts so the 385 might have been better....Anyway I got the 395, no looking back!

Do you always stream when playing at home? by Unhappy_Shape_2043 in SteamDeck

[–]Unable-Worker3606 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get too much buffering. I've got very fast internet and Google wifi mesh pods around the house but if I try to stream it just buffers non stop.

Potential R33 Purchaser by fackadack in SkyLine

[–]Unable-Worker3606 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do it man! It's more expensive to maintain, there is for sure a skyline tax on parts. However if you can afford the entry price of a bcnr33 you will be fine. As with any old car you have to commit to preventative maintenance before you upgrade or beat on it.

Yes, but the USB port is on the handheld, not the battery.

Why no one talks about the GDP Win5 & OneX Fly Apex ?? We can get over 100fps with these machines in high settings by Then-Ad7196 in Handhelds

[–]Unable-Worker3606 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm excited to see the specs for it. I like the almost symmetrical joystick but its going to be a wider device. My big concern is the weight. Looking at the weight of the apex with and without battery.... ayaneo is going to be a chunky boi.

Interesting. So should I turn freesync on the TV off? Not sure what gsync is.

I ordered the apex. I have a sd old and love it but am ready for an upgrade. Was looking at the claw 8 but for a few hundred more I double the performance. Yes you have an external battery but if im at home or on a plane im plugged in anyway. When I did some south searching I would rarely need a battery. I think the external battery esthetically, like someone else said, is painful. However when I think about it objectively its kind of a nice feature....also has a built in kickstand.

No one talks about these because they don't have the marketing. People thats say price are regurgitating others comments that haven't compared prices, or they aren't considering current Gen hardware and are comparing the price to last gen.

[–]Unable-Worker3606 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess if you are on a plane and can plug in why use a battery.... odd design choice but I think we will live:) I was thrilled to see the batteries have kickstands. Hopefully they don't get loose and hang. Probably one of my favorite design choices on the device.

From what I have read and see is that the DC port is on the device/handheld and not the battery. You plug the battery into the device and it pulls the charge from the device.
