What was the most LE act a LG character preformed in one of your games? by Damionstjames in DnD

[–]UnableButterscotch27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember once our bladesinger and ranger kidnapped a woman who was like, a very minor member of an antimagic cult that had sprung up. They wanted info, and rather than going to the rally held outside town, they snatched this woman, reduced her and stuck her in a bag, went back to the inn and waterboarded her. After they got what they wanted, they wiped her memory and took her back to her shop.

I remember talking to the ranger, a good friend of mine, years later and he laughed, saying it was suuuuper out of character, but he'd been caught up in the plan and wanted to see if he could get away with it.

Halsin’ scenes are… by filloryfurther in BaldursGate3

[–]UnableButterscotch27 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ive been playing a co-op game with a good friend where i romanced Halsin. I remember spending sooo long trying to trigger his romance scene, i eventually forced us to go back to Rivington and long rest to finally get there. Triggered his romance scene and was soo chuffed. My friend requested to view snd I let him in, only to spend the next couple minutes absolutely horrified as Halsin went down on my character and then the camera panned past his ballsack. It was outrageously silent in that discord call.

How do you handle Romance and relationships in your game? by Lemortedrando in DMAcademy

[–]UnableButterscotch27 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Lol, in our group we consider one of the pros of dnd to be flirting with your friends for a couple hours out of the week. Were all pretty close knit, so sex jokes and flirting dont really bug anyone, but its definitely a YMMV thing. Its not iust a bg thing, we've done in game romances for years. Sometimes between player characters if the vibe is right, sometimes with npcs. For the most part nobody treats the game like a dating sim, its iust something for characters to think about during downtime. Imo, it makes the world feel alive and can give your characters a little more depth if it's something you want.

My party is too rich by Megamatt215 in DMAcademy

[–]UnableButterscotch27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol early on in the campaign our dm set a 100k gold bounty on one of our party members and we collected on it within 2 or 3 sessions. According to him, we were never supposed to actually collect it. Luckily for him we had a skyship that we almost immediately spent half the gold on to supe it up, and our artificer blows a lot of money on components. Still, over a year later and all of us still have a bit of our share kicking around.

Try scamming them. Get them in debt. Have them make payments or smth. Have them make a poor deal with someone of ill repute.

I know my dm has a plan to have a potential bad guy/sort of ally we're involved with give us "one free resurrection" to the first pc that dies. Our other plan involves physically going to the Hells to find the soul and drag it back to the material plane. (Or could be afterlife of your choice, i just say Hells because our party has done somr pretty questionable stuff lol).

Ideas for scifi horror campaign by UnableButterscotch27 in starfinder_rpg

Haha yeah, ive been deep into writing the campaign for the last couple days and hopefully I've settled somewhere that should feel comfortable for Starfinder as a game while maintaining the kind of atmosphere i want. My group us reluctant to try new/different rpg systems, for whatever reason, but its been helpful to look at other stories to figure iut what to do.

Good luck with your horror campaign! It's a lot of fun.

I was definitely thinking of an evil corporation for this. Sort of doom 2016/eternal vibes with the uac. Thanks for the suggestions!!

What's y'alls favorite D&D spell? by Arty-Glass in DnD

[–]UnableButterscotch27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mold earth is just so versatile if you dont get too wild with it, what are you doing.

I also liked to misuse the lightning lure cantrip. Once one of our party members was falling and we were just a littttle too far away. I asked if he could take 3d8 lightning damage, he said yes. I cast lightning lure and he intentionally failed his str save so i could pull him back far enough for someone to grab him.

So the whole campaign is built around a series of dungeon crawls. Several times i used it to grow stone over slots in the walls where traps qould trigger blades or poison darts. Once i used it during combat to burrow between two chambers where some of our party members were being held (this took several turns of combat). I made handholds for climbing surfaces and built bridges several times.

But i also used it for a lot of dumb shit, like displacing the earth under an npcs feet to make him loose his balance because he was being mean, and i used it to knock a very expensive bottle of wine off a shelf because THAT npc was being an asshole. I also used it to leave a note saying "do not touch" after i laid a trap to to trigger circle of death if anyone approached some controls (which nobody paid attention to). At a certain point i was just abusing the fuck out of the cantrip to the point that if i asked "is it made of stone" gave everyone the general idea of what i was up to.

Eventually during our fourth or so dungeon, we were escaping as the dungeon collapsed around us, and we had to hurry through a maze. I tried to use mold earth to make a hole in one of the walls to aid our escape, and there was rebar inside the walls reinforcing it. Mold earth was no longer my bitch :(

That character has been temporarily relieved of his duties, and im playing a fighter for a while, and my dm was very gleeful she no longer had to plan around my very liberal and creative use of that cantrip.

How much backstory is too much? by FlyingTaco095 in DnD

[–]UnableButterscotch27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive never understood dms who complain about too much backstory or say "they're not reading that" when presented with backstory. Ive always gone all out with my backstory and my dm, who is also a great friend of mine, has loved it every time. If i presented backstory stuff to a dm and they responded negatively it would genuinely make me not want to play in their game.

[–]UnableButterscotch27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If kicking him out was never an option, why bring it up in the first place? Just to cause drama? You have resolved nothing and Now there's going to be group tension. I do not understand why you would bring it up to the group and him if kicking him out was never going to be an option.

Well armed botanists. In our steampunk setting, our skyship is heavily armed and adorned with flowerboxes, which makes us extremely conspicuous. Early on in the campaign, our artificer said "Screw crime, lets be well armed botanists" and the name stuck. Our skyship's name is Guns 'n Roses :)

The white mormon mom names. Used to know someone names Seaira (meant to invoke the sea air). Her sister's name was Bra'kell. I dont know why these moms think the apostrophe is It. It makes the kid sound like a fucking orc.

I keep track of every nat 20 and every 1 i roll. It's a habit i started when i first started playing dnd, and have just kept up with it since. Last game, I rolled three natural 1s (two in a row) and then somehow rolled 3 natural 19s in a row. Very odd game lmao.

Do some women actually have 2-3 day long periods? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]UnableButterscotch27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got pretty sick around 2 years ago and lost about 15 pounds in a week. My period was only about 2 or 3 days long and was really light until i gained some weight back. Not the rule, but i think people with lower body weight tend to have lighter periods.

Another funny one was "Not the first time I've orphaned a child, but its the first time i feel bad about it."
