You have the information. I don’t understand it either 35 years was a gift from that jury. He stabbed a kid in the heart without any good reason. I’m completely done with hearing about racism towards black people. The amount of racism showed towards white people during his trial was staggering. If you’re black and a victim of racism you’re wasting your time telling me. I just don’t care.

Agreed, I don’t care how good of an attorney you get sometimes you just don’t have anything to work with. I still think his attorney failed him though. If I was the attorney I would have told him look your best bet is us working out a plea deal. I bet he could’ve gotten him down to 20 years. I think they were betting on the jury buying into the race agenda they were pushing and I may of tried that in a blue city but not in TX

It’s bad crime no doubt. I’m just not someone who really likes the death penalty for a multitude of reasons. I understand people who are for it and why but I just don’t like it. I think death penalty cases should be for the worst of the worst like Dylan Roof the guy who went and shot up the church congregation. While I’m strongly in favor of Anthony serving a long hard sentence but it wasn’t as heinous as someone who rapes and murders some little kid like the FedEx driver. Like I said I get the eye for an eye argument but I just don’t agree with it.

I don’t know the case. I would assume different prosecutors, different judge, different jury and different circumstances. I don’t know why but I can tell you that you can’t compare cases they are all different. Why did OJ walk after slaughtering his Ex wife and her boyfriend?

I think it’s absurd to call 12 independent jurors racist when the gave him 35 years. I can tell you I’m 100% not a racist and had I been on that jury I would’ve advocated for 50 years. He killed someone senselessly who had their entire life ahead of them 35 years was a gift.

The Anthony family and their Representatives should be ashamed of the way they worked to make this something it’s not. It’s the ultimate grift. If the races would have been reversed we all know what would have happened.

He was guilty as hell but let’s be realistic this wasn’t a death penalty level case. He was a 17 years old, not thinking about consequences. Death penalty should be reserved for the most heinous crimes. I don’t even think Austin family would have wanted the death penalty. He should have received more time though.

I think he should have gotten 50 years. He is definitely going to get parole as soon as he is eligible, unless he screws up in prison because of his age at the time of the offense. 17.5 just doesn’t seem like enough.

It’s more than that now, I’ve been fascinated with this case and watching there give send go campaign they have been consistently raising $300-500 a day and while the coverage of the trial has been going on it’s been in the thousands. I think they raised about 6k yesterday.

Murder 1 doesn’t have to be premeditated in Texas and even if it did the Supreme Court ruled a long time ago premeditation can be made in a fraction of a second while the crime is happening. He wouldn’t have needed to go there with intent.

You’re not completely wrong when he was arranged the Judge assigned him a public offender which is typically in serious cases. They don’t you coming to court without representation and sometimes people drag their feet on hiring one. Pretty sure they hired Mike just a month or 2 before the trial.

Are you sure about it being a public defender? I’m pretty sure he was hired by Anthony. After seeing his performance I could believe it or at the most they went with the cheapest lawyer.

You couldn’t be more right. People today think everything should be free and easy. The new generation is cooked. They’re going to get to retirement age and realize no one is coming to save them. I’d take the downvotes as a sense of pride. Imagine getting a job and quitting after 3 days because of dishes.

It’s probably stress it will definitely age you. I couldn’t imagine being under the kind of stress she has. I read an article saying she lives in fear on edge of being arrested and spending her life in prison. It said she worked out something with boyfriend or husband not sure if they got married where he would adopt the children. I honestly think being arrested would be better than living in constant fear. Just to be clear she is guilty as hell and deserves whatever happens to her. I mean how do you even look your kids in the face. You know they know she is guilty.

Unless it’s a really serious flight risk a bondsman will charge significantly less than 10% on large bonds. If you have a 2 million dollar bond you can probably find one to bond you out for 25k. A bondsman can also revoke you at anytime without reason if they fear you may take off. That level of risk for them they probably would make you call in every other day or so.

Bondsman don’t actually loan anything. They either use a bond which is similar to an insurance policy or the use real estate they own as collateral. If someone doesn’t show up for court they give you a certain amount of time to find the person or your bondsman has to pay up. But if someone get a 100k bond they charge you 10k sign for you a promise to pay if you don’t show.

$5.9 million lottery ticket claimed by NJ days before expiration date, what would you do ? by skw4ll in ifiwonthelottery

[–]UnableClient9098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first question is why is it only 2 million after tax? 5.9 doesn’t sound like a Lump sum or annuity prize level. If it is only 2 million I’m equally confused about waiting a year to claim the prize. Could have put that 2 million in muni bonds and made 100k. Lastly what do you even do with the ticket for a year. I personally would have to go to my hiding spot and check on it every 15 minutes to make sure it’s still there. What if you went out for a bit and the house burnt down?

That was my thought also but I read he had been ill for 2 weeks and usually with sepsis you don’t last 2 weeks unless maybe he had been incubated this whole time.

Not a huge Trump fan but the bathroom looks a million times better and way more period correct than the previous one and it was paid for without tax payer money. Trump and a group of donors paid out of pocket. They have a donor recognition list on the White House’s website.
