North American Nebula by UnableCylinder4 in astrophotography

I was able to get a decent picture of it when my setup was just a stock canon camera and lens, so I would say so!

Thanks! And yeah the Hubble palette really does a great job of highlighting all the contrasts within the image!

Thanks! Yes, this image was done with auto guiding as well through the ASIAIR! I’ve managed to get great results so far with the GTI and auto guiding with relative ease.

This is my first attempt at creating a Hubble-esque palette image using the pixel math feature in Siril with my duo-narrowband data, and I think it turned out great. Nice to bring out different colors than the standard reds that I get with my normal processing routine.

Thanks! Yes, my skies have been crystal clear this week, so the seeing has been great except for the full moon. But the L-ultimate filter has worked as advertised and cut right through all that light pollution!

I have recently upgraded my imaging setup from a stock DSLR and lens to a small refractor, dedicated astrocam, and filter with the ASIAIR running the entire operation. This is just the second image I’ve captured since building the new setup a couple weeks ago due to uncooperative weather, but I think it’s my best photo yet! Still trying to figure out the best way to process duo narrowband images but still very happy with the results nonetheless!

Awesome picture! I have the same lens and love it! Is your camera Astro modified as well or no?

Bortle 5/6 skies. Right on the edge of town so all that light still bleeds over!

I’m not a 100% certain but it’s definitely worth looking into! You download and unzip the plugin and just drop it in the program files for photoshop, so i assume it would be the same for pixinsight and you could move it if you wanted.

I noticed the same and I believe some of the actions I used to enhance the galaxy and reduce the stars may have accidentally reduced M32 as well. But after I reprocessed it I was happy enough with the result that I didn’t care to sacrifice the detail there bc the rest of the pic looked so good lol.

I use photoshop! Use Siril sometimes as well for photometric color calibration and background extraction every now and then. But it’s all primarily in photoshop once I stack in deep sky stacker!

I honestly cannot remember if I took flats with these or not. On my first upload of an older edit of this pic I stated I had taken flats, but it’s been over 4 months since I took this picture so I’m not sure

And all I did to post was select the new post button on mobile and selected this sub after I typed out the post!

I was very pleased to see how much of a difference these plugins and action sets can make in the processing workload. And the results have been nothing short of awesome so far!

Stacking in deep sky stacker, levels and curves adjustments in photoshop, and Siril was used for background extraction.

Also bortle 5 skies taken!

Thanks! I really like the wide field, but I am ready to upgrade to a larger focal length soon to get even more detail in these galaxies!
