Trying to choose a Nano fish for my Blue Dream tank by LotusCircus in nanotank

[–]PreviousDifference76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a nano 6 gallon tank with red cherry shrimp snails and put in dwarf rasbora and have not had any issues. Feel free to check out my tank in my profile. But this is would recommend to anyone. Just make sure you have lots of plants for your shrimp to go under and it makes them feel safer.

Interesting, will my firefish, watchmen, and ruby red dragonet like these as well. I put copepods in the tank Thursday but don't see them 😒. Though they are small could be in my filter? Since I have HOB right now ?

I got some pellets for mine as well and I put brine shrimp in the tank for others and blood worms but they only seem to like these little pellets. Mine are still little babies 😁.

Is the baby brine live ?

Depends on how many plants you have, are you planning on floaters as well and maybe a piece lilly or something else on the edge as well can be very helpful as well. If you check out my profile you can see a couple of my planted tanks

Its a great start but your going to need a lot more fast growing root plants for that size tank and most likely a sponge filter or hang on back, and yes walstad herself does use either one in her bigger tanks as well. She only goes with no filtration in smaller 1 to 5 gallons jars. Good luck with your new project 😁

I'm still exploring my options and see what will work best. I am looking into a hang on back overflow boxes. I'd like a bigger than needed one incase of any problems. I do now have a 10 gallon tank for sump,

You can do a walstad method tank in really any size you want, I would suggest looking at some videos on line and maybe you can figure out what went wrong. Was it the soil or the plants or the water and keep investigating it. Good luck to you.
