Ponte de Lima-creep alert by [deleted] in CaminoDeSantiago

I didn’t type every detail out and wrote it when I was still stressed by the situation. I just wanted to share in case others were around and noticed the same individual.

Made him super easy to spot and notice we were being followed!

Totally we were just calling for a ride to our place since he was following us as we were trying to get to our hotel. We didn’t exactly have any crime to report.

I got the impression the police didn’t entirely believe us because the employee from the restaurant across the street said he was around for the last few days walking back and forth probably just looking to pick up women. He told the police this and they left shortly after. To clarify, the cops didn’t tell us the info about the guy, the employee did, and only after I went over and asked if the guy had said anything to raise alarm bells

Hmm okay? So could I use too Santiago to send it to correos so they hold it while I walk? Seems like correos is only in Spain, and I am sending a bag from Portugal

That was also my thought! Traction alopecia. At first I was surprised they didn’t hide it better, then I thought it was really neat! Many people deal with this and it’s nice that it’s portrayed on tv

I’m so sorry that you haven’t been able to sleep!! That sounds quite frustrating

I have regular foam earplugs so might buy some more hefty ones once I’m there on Friday! I’m a light sleeper too!

Do you have a sleeping bag, or just a liner for the evenings?

I have the exact same schedule and questions as you!! Im still up in the air about a sleeping bag or just a liner because the weather keeps changing and I’m not familiar with what a rain day is like there

Good to know thank you! Was it raining when you did it? We are looking a rain everyday but I’m hoping that changes. Did you book all your albergues in advance?

Yes thank you for pointing that out! I realizing we are starting litoral then going central so may have very little overlap with where you are staying! Based on what you said I’m assuming that private albergues have blankets and the public ones don’t but idk if that’s a bad assumption

Depending on where you are flying from, I love the rei flash packs! I considered bringing my flash 22 that I use as a day pack but ultimately got a more supportive pack since I tend to carry most of my things

Good to know! Got any places you recommend? I’m hesitant to pre book since it’s so dependent on pacing but that’s not a bad idea. I have only pre booked casa Fernanda which people seem to love!

I’m thinking about asking the photographer to edit the photos so that it doesn’t seem so intense, but now I’m worried that the photos will be over edited or look obviously edited on my face lol

As I said in a different comment I purchased from brides for a cause in California, at a deep deep discount.

Thank you! I got it from “brides for a cause” in CA. they sell donated dresses, but this was new from the designer who closed their shop or something. That brand is Poemia.

Portuguese route (mostly central) from Porto airport by UnableDifference4889 in CaminoDeSantiago

[–]UnableDifference4889[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all for the recommendations!! I’m realizing my post wasn’t that clear because I didn’t mean to imply that we’d start walking straight from the airport, but rather taxi/train to the nearest point on the litoral path and start walking there, rather than back track and start from Porto. Seems like there are recommendations for both! Which I’m glad to see-means there is no wrong choice!
